Bob I am taking you on this very very timely post Maybe if the church did better in multi ethnic ministry DACA would have not been an issue at all. In US history the Church have always been an integral part of America’s culture melting pot. Not so in recent decades when sub-cultures are formed in every major city and now even in small rural towns – MI towns all Muslim, Dalton GA 99% hispanic and so on
During some doctoral research back in the day when sub-cultures was on the rise, we polled 100 mid-large Pentecostal congregations in Atlanta area
how many wanted to do multi-cultural ministry – 100%
how many have never done any or been trained to do any multi-cultural ministry – 100%
That is 100 of 100. Other questions were more checkered. Let;s take this talk from there – training to do cross/multi culture ministry – do we have it ?

playing the racist card so many times has made it simply invalid – churches in TX are not getting to be multi cultural because a wall is to be raised that would stop cultures coming in Migration is hardly a racial issue

Troy Day – so you are saying that Churches are refusing to follow God because they believe that political policy will reduce certain types of migration so they are in open rebellion to God over these changes? Wow!

Troy Day – what is the connection you see between political policy and why churches aren’t following Christ? I’ve just not looked at things through the lens of wall or no wall driving spiritual decisions.

I stated the connection several times If you dont get it you dont get it I cannot draw you the basics of cross – cultural ministry over the phone in a text by text format I stated the essentials above and how do I see it not applicable in our days world What else is still unclear?

Yes! And they choose to stay separate because they fail to understand that the Bible is one book, on story, and it can be summed up as God’s story of building a multiethnic bride. They fail to understand God’s mandate to build multiethnic local churches.

Whose church is referenced? My church is astonishingly ethically diverse. I thought all Pentecostal churches are like that. No?

I think Bob Wizenhut was making a general overview but it just came out wrong this time Most Pentecostal churches in the South are obviously NOT ethically diverse

Troy Day Every nation of the world is found here. I guess, I would start by continent, then by nation, but many of these nations have multiple ethnic groups speaking many different languages.

so your church has ALL ~300 nations Do give me the name/location I must come and visit as I have never seen one just like that before The most cross cultural church I have ever seen in America had about ~30 ethnic groups present, maybe even less if you get technical (and I teach cross cultural ministry from time to time)

yeah I figured your church is RHC but as far as Pentecostal churches in the South – simply no, they are not cross cultural like Bob Wizenhut was saying earlier 🙂

Troy Day I am Pentecostal from birth. My mother was holding me when she received the baptism from the laying in of hands by the Pentecostal Assemblies of God minister Robert McAllister of Azusa Street fame. Ever heard of him?

Sure, but we are talking about cross cultural churches in this OP and particularly such in the South

As a young child, I attended the Garr Auditorium established by the first white pastor to receive the baptism at Azusa Street.

Charlotte has 2% people other than white, black and hispanic – hardly representing all 300 ethnic groups of the world 🙂 I have only once seen a church with some 30 ethnic groups in them – more of 24 if you ask me. The cross cultural Pentecostal ministry would have 3-7 ethnoses represented at most

Philip Williams – so are right. Every large or medium size city have broad ethnic diversity. But 85% of white Christians worship in a congregation that is 80% or more white. If you break that done by number of churches that are monoethnic it must be more than 95% of churches
