Any thoughts on this scripture. Exodus 6:3 KJVS
[3] And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name Jehovah was I not known to them.
For example. How could abraham call a place jehovah-jireh if he hadnt known jehovah?

Is your question about El Elyon in the text or something else?

Ricky Grimsley Are you starting again on Yahweh as one of the Sons of El Elyon? http://www.pentecostaltheology.com/yahweh-was-one-of-the-sons-of-el-elyon/

The TLB translation best describes this verse. ” though I did not reveal my name to them.”

I see el shaddai not elyon. But ill listen to anything. Obviously most people that know about this say its A euphemism for God revealed more about himself. Thats really all i have. So I am asking for anything more really.

I have never heard of any theory of yahweh being the son of el elyon. Sounds blasphemous. Just asking for some thoughts. If someone asks me about the scripture i would say ” God is just saying they really didnt know me that good yet but now I am revealing myself more.” Im just asking if anyone has any thing more in depth than that.

read Scofields notes to “God” in Genesis 1:1 you won’t find it on the internet (1917 edition) You’ll have to have a copy. He references God as “Allah”
