In 1 Kings 18, verse 16 onwards we read that Elijah performed a miracle.
He prays to God and brings fire down from heaven to consume the sacrifice.
He is shown as a courageous prophet who is not afraid of King Ahab or the followers of Baal.

But in the following chapter, we read that he runs away after Jezebel sends him a death warning.

Was he insecure or unsure that God who performed miracle through him, would also save him from Jezebel?

Troy Day If a spirit is recognised by its character, eg pride, arrogance, manipulation, intimidation, seduction, wrath, anger, malice, scheming, false humility, deception, self will, criticism, high opinion of self, control, …the list is endless…
Are there Christians who exhibit such things?
I guess not all are so holy that it took the Lord Jesus Himself to address a ” Christian church” who had aJezebel preacher..

What about people in the church who send soldiers to execute prophets? Are there a lot of them?

Yes. I know. I love the Bible about Elijah. I was just making a joke out of the way she dressed. She got that accused of that kind of dressing and being painted up. Preachers use to use that in a message. When they preached about make up. I shouldn’t have used it as of because the way she was dressed and painted up. I didn’t mean to offend anyone. I didn’t think about that. I’m sorry. But I knew why he ran. And the whole story behind it. But thinks for explaining. You did the right thing. Just keep telling it straight. That’s what we need is preachers and whom ever. We always need to tell it like the Bible says it. I think bro. Troy Day has had some great things on there about the Bible and end times. But thank you.

Troy Day The Bible speaks of a “woman” ..not a spirit in the Book of Revelation.
The Lord Jesus says this ” Nevertheless you tolerate that WOMAN Jezebel…..”
So it is obvious a woman but she is also a false teacher(do we have false teachers today in the Body of Christ ..MANY)
It is seen that by her teaching Jezebel misleads Jesus “servants”(??) into sexual immorality and idolatry.
In many place the Bible cautions about ” false teachers” and also about seducing spirits and doctrine of devils .
We all know that spirits need a body to manifest their activities or consummate their desires…especially a human body.
I believe that WOMAN JEZEBEL in Revelation was a woman with spirits that has enabled her to control and manipulate and mislead servants of the High God to sexual immorality and Idolatry….in the church she was a member.
The earlier Jezebel, i.e King Ahab”s wife, did the same things as the Jezebel in the Book of Revelation and possibly worse things: she made Ahab King of Israel serve and worship Baal and with 400 prophets under her control Jezebel must have been quiet a frightful teacher…It is written that she slaughtered the servants of God such that some were hidden in caves….to save their lives.
Jezebel must have been a highly anointed satanic priest(witch) because even Elijah a man who could call fire from heaven, had to run for his life and even wanted to commit suicide…when threatened by her.
I can conclusively say that bothJezebels mentioned in the Bible are WOMEN for the glimpses we have of their stories but I can also discern from their characters that both women were evil..very evil and it is from these evils that we can deduct they had spirits…
Someone argues that it is not written in the Bible that Jezebel was a spirit.
.Well I don’t have to argue back but can that someone show me in the Bible when and where God put the 32 teeth on Adam and when did his blood circulation began to run and when his digestive system was put in place….and when was his DNA programmed….?
Surely it is not written in the Bible….AT ALL but is all summed up in a simple verse : “And Adam became a living soul…”
      Dot.
Any true deliverance minister will have no qualms on Jezebel… For surely it is a spirit.. ” The strong man” for Satan….no wonder the Lord Jesus Himself abhors tolerance of such a ” spirit” in the church.
Yes she can and does inhabit modern churches and run it…

There are people who say they discern spirits who call them different things. Troy mentioned George Fox a week or two ago. He used to describe spirits as being like animals, I think, or Judas’ spirit. That sort of thing. So if there is an actual demon that has some characteristics like Jezebel, I cannot rule that out. I am sure there are plenty of people who will say God spoke to them about such things.

But I do not see where the Bible actually mentions anything about a ‘Jezebel spirit’ as a demonic entity. And some Charismatics do take terms like ‘Jezebel spirit’ to refer to some kind of principality. I encountered one who thought the Jezebel spirit was more powerful than Satan. To me that is evidence of exalting recent Charismatic tradition over scripture.

Some people use ‘spirit’ loosely. They don’t mean that a ‘Jezebel spirit’ or ‘religious spirit’ or whatever is an actual demon or principality. I don’t suppose the cheerleaders at my high school thought ‘school spirit’ was an actual demon, either.

brother Link Hudson you always do well on this topic. I’ve said it before but whenever I’ve seen men call a woman Jezebel is usually because they can’t control her or make her do something she doesn’t want to do. It’s mostly men that want something they can’t have. It the worst kind of spiritual and scriptural abuse.
I’m not saying there aren’t demon attacks and manipulation against the leadership. I’m just saying it’s not always accurate to blame the girls. or deacons or the “board’ either. Sometimes the man of God has to own his mess.

Sometimes church leaders use this ‘Jezebel spirit’ thing if people do not agree with them or are in their way.

It can be a really bad form of gossip to accuse someone of having some kind of ‘spirit’ with no real evidence for it. Kind of like spectral evidence. If other people avoid them or think ill of them based on no real concrete sin, that’s a really nasty way of accusing someone else.

I wouldn’t assume that every pastor in the word in the one-man-show type church structure is right every time he has a problem with the elders of the church. The apostles appointed more than one elder in every church. Paul and Peter both told elders to pastor. I cannot find our ‘senior pastor’ system in the Bible. I see Jesus as the ‘chief Pastor’ in I Peter 5, and the elders are to shepherd under Him.

Isara Mo Yeah, the ‘one man show’, where you always have one pastor in the front giving a sermon while the rest of the body just sites on their gifts and does not develop.

As opposed to a Biblical model which has ‘every one of you’ ministering within the parameters of the ‘commandments of the Lord’ we see in I Corinthians 14. And plural pastoral eldership.

Within the sola-pastora model, there are some pastors who are more into the one-man show philosphy than others.

Let’s talk about this. I suspect this part was not from Unger. Is this what we are supposed to be discussing or something else? I’ll put my comments up front.

Peter says if any man speak, let him speak as the word of God. Especially when we are edifying one another in church, our words need to be the word of God. We can teach and expound upon scripture, which is revealed by God. We can exhort and encourage others to follow the word of God. The Spirit can empower people to prophesy and share revelations, which should be in line with the scriptures. There can be tongues and interpretations. We should stay away from wild speculation. Everything needs to come from divine authority when we are teaching or preaching. We are teach, preach, encourage, prophesy based on revelation. Teachers expound and explain already given revelation. Prophets give a revelation for the moment in line with the revelation of the Bible.

There is a bunch of negative characteristics here. I just get the feeling that a pastor or other leader who had dealt with an individual some people with bad character wrote up those character traits in a ‘Jezebel spirit’ article.

First of all, just from a straightforward reading of the Bible, we cannot say that there is an actual entity, a demon, called ‘the Jezebel spirit.’ The article starts off ‘This high level evil spirit’… which sounds to me like it claims that this is some kind of principality.

My question is, what is the authority for this. Did God reveal this? The Bible does not teach that ‘the spirit of Jezebel’ is a high level evil spirit. So does the author claim to have a spiritual revelation about. If so, I would like to know that. Don’t just throw out a claim like this without support.

That sort of thing is something that irks me a bit by some streams of ‘Charismatics’, or Third Wave or NAR or some of these other movements– throwing out some kind of second hand revelation where we don’t know where it came from. Making pronouncements that something is true without backing it up by scripture or telling us the source of who got the revelation.

As far as the Biblical Jezebel goes, I don’t see how a lot of these characteristics have a lot to do with Jezebel. Did Jezebel volunteer for everything? Did she ignore people? How are we supposed to know that?

If the author is claiming to get all this information from ‘discernment of spirits’. It seems like a lot of Charismatics get some doctrine from someone else– who speaks authoritatively but doesn’t tell the source of the ‘revelation’– adds to it, and the body of extrabiblical doctrine grows.

I’ve heard or read that someone said the Lord revealed to him or her that someone else had a spirit of Jezebel. I can’t say for sure whether that is true or not. But I can oppose the method of taking some doctrine that we do not know comes from revelation from God (e.g. from scripture…or at least some kind of revelation in line with scripture at the very least) adding to it, and teaching it as truth. Let’s speak the word of God.

As for the characteristics below, many of them can be taught against very clearly and specifically using scripture without adding to the extra-Biblical ‘Jezebel spirit’ lore and the ‘Jezebel spirit’ doctrine.

I will post the article I am addressing below:

The article I addressed earlier: Jezebel spirit article part 1:
This high level evil spirit has been responsible for tearing down many churches, pastors, people with prophetic ministries, and other ministries. Not only that, Jezebel Spirit has also been responsible for breaking up many marriages, friendships, companies, along with getting many people to commit cold-blooded murders and suicides. But what are the different ways in which this Jezebel Spirit operates? How can we identify the Spirit of Jezebel?

    Identifying The Spirit of Jezebel

Refuses to admit guilt or wrong
A person with a Jezebel spirit is will never admits wrong, unless it is a temporary admittance of guilt to gain “favor” with someone. To accept responsibility would violate the core of insecurity and pride from which it operates. When a Jezebel apologizes it is never in true repentance or acknowledgment of wrongdoing but rather “I’m sorry your feelings were hurt.”

    Takes credit for everything
While a strong trait of Jezebel is to never take responsibility for his wrong actions or behavior, he also is quick to take credit for benefits for which he contributed no effort.

Uses people to accomplish its agenda
The Spirit of Jezebel lets others do its dirty work. The Jezebel gets another person’s emotions stirred up, then lets that person go into a rage. The Jezebel sits back looking innocent, saying “Who me? What did I do?” This behavior makes it difficult for even the most ardent truth seekers to pin one down. The Jezebel spirit is clever in its agenda.

    Withholds information
Withholding information is one of the way a person operating under the influence of the Jezebel Spirit holds and maintain. Remember the Jezebel spirit is a form of witchcraft. Witchcraft spirits loves to control other people. A Jezebel wields power over you by knowing something you don’t know in a situation. In the eyes of a Jezebel, having information you don’t have is a powerful weapon of control.

Jezebel is threaten by Prophetic #Ministry
A person with a Jezebel spirit will do everything in its power to destroy a person with a prophetic ministry or gift. Reason being is that someone with a prophetic gift or ministry will be able to identify Jezebel Spirit and will attack it. Remember Jezebel in the Bible tried to destroy all the true prophets of #God and even tried to kill Elijah.

    Volunteers for anything
A Jezebel loves to volunteer, especially for projects were he/she will be seen and can have some level of control. Although he will work hard, his motive is never pure, and eventually his secret agenda cannot be hidden.

    Lies
A person with a Jezebel Spirit will lie, even when they don’t have to and are hard to detect. No one can lie better than a Jezebel. He can make you believe whatever he/she wants you to as he/she does this through manipulation. The fact that Jezebel can look you in the eye and lie just shows how strong and adamant this rebellious and recalcitrant spirit is.

    Ignores people
A classic ploy of a controller is to ignore you when you disagree with him. This tactic is frequently used by leaders when someone doesn’t agree with their plans, and they isolate the person by ignoring him. Some in these situations have been ignored for months, just because they chose not to be a puppet and say to every idea or whim. This puts the person out of the leader’s grace and forces him to either “come around” to the leader’s way of thinking or be indefinitely ignored. One is not free to disagree with a controller.

Never gives credit or shows gratitude
A person with the Spirit of Jezebel will rarely give credit to someone or acknowledge another person’s actions, not even for something that turned out to greatly benefit the Jezebel. He just cannot bring himself to say thank you or to acknowledge that someone else did something right. There are those who have gone out of their way to bless a Jezebel by being the catalyst of sending him on a trip or giving a gift. Yet never will there be a thank you. This again puts the controller in a position of power. If Jezebel does, it is always to accomplish an end-game, but never from a pure #heart.

    Criticizes everyone
This is a characteristic of a controller. He has to be the one who looks good, so he will quickly sharply criticize anyone who makes a suggestion or plan. Even though he likes the plan, he can only criticize it because the idea did not originate from him. Criticizing others elevates the controller in his own mind.

    One-upmanship
A person with a Jezebel spirit will always upstage another person. Jezebel feels threatened by anyone who dares to steal the limelight or anyone who is a threat to his power and control. If you are with such a person and tell of your accomplishment or victory, you can be assured he will quickly tell of something he has accomplished.

The Jezebel spirit article from the website part II:

    Spiritualizes everything
When a controller is confronted, he commonly spiritualizes the situation, explaining it off on God. This prevents him from owning up to responsibility required of him. The implication is always, “You’ve got a problem; I don’t.”

    Is insubordinate
A Jezebel never takes the side of the employer or a person in authority, unless it is a temporary action to make himself look good. He often will take credit for someone else’s idea. His main desire is for power and control. There is no conscience when an opportunity for recognition presents itself.

    Is pushy and domineering
A person with a Jezebel spirit pressures you to do things, seemingly ripping from you your right to choose or make a decision for yourself. He makes others feel as though they don’t have enough sense to think for themselves.

    Uses the element of surprise
A Jezebel’s main thrust is to be in control, and a large part of control is catching you off guard. Therefore, the element of surprise works well when he shows up a day early for a meeting, etc.

    Sows seeds of discord
A Jezebel will continually belittle another person in the most subtle way. The strategy is to “gain” control by minimizing the value of another person. It is common for him to tell half-truths to implicate another person in your eyes. By sowing these seeds, he hopes to eventually reap a harvest of destruction, improving his position of power.

    Commands attention
A Jezebel likes to be the center of attention and doesn’t like to see others recognized and lauded. When someone else is recognized, he will quickly undermine the person’s accomplishments verbally.

    Is vengeful
Since a Jezebel is never wrong, if you contradict or confront one, get ready to become his worst enemy. As long as you are in agreement with him, all is fine. But if you confront or challenge him, then look out. You are the target of his fiercest venom. A Jezebel will stop at nothing to destroy your reputation.

Attempts to make you look like you’re the Jezebel
A Jezebel spirit is difficult to pin down. If the person is near to being confronted, he or she will skillfully twist the entire situation, trying to make the innocent person look like the one who is attempting to control. As always, the Jezebel will do anything to look like the one who is right.

    Insinuates disapproval
A Jezebel will often imply disapproval to those under his or her control. The controlled person feels no freedom to express an opinion, for fear of disapproval. This often manifests in a#marriage or in a working environment.

    Knows it all
A Jezebel is usually blatant regarding his knowledge of everything. Quick to express his opinion in any area, he leaves little room for anyone to point out the other side of an issue. He has made idols of his opinions.

    Is ambitious
The Jezebel has strong desire, but all for self. “I want what I want when I want it,” describes his worship of self-will. A Jezebel leader will never use the words, “We have a vision,” but rather, “My vision is thus and so.”

    Gift giving
A person with the spirit of Jezebel loves to give gifts, this again is a form of control as the Jezebel uses gifts to make you feel obligated to him. It also compromises the victim in speaking against him or her or to confront truth about that person. I am not saying that everyone who gives gifts are Jezebel or does this to control others, but gift giving is a tactic used by those who have a need to control.

    Is independent
No one has input in a Jezebel’s life. He fraternizes with no one unless it is to get you to “cooperate” with his agenda.

    Is religious
A Jezebel dwells in the local church but doesn’t like authority unless he is in the position of authority. He or she will behave like they are holy or a Christian, but they are not.

    Hides
We all want to believe that the person with a Jezebel spirit is delivered. The person may seem “normal” for a period, exhibiting none of the classic traits. Then suddenly without warning a situation will arise, once again with the spirit taking control and wreaking havoc over lives. Hopefully, true repentance will come. Only then will the person be delivered. Bible Knowledge wrote a very good article about The Jezebel Spirit and How it Operates I recommend you check it out.

    Jezebel?….
The scripture doesn’t call her thus and it seems the ” woman” is more of a spirit than a human woman….
So the given diversities of Jezebel characterists in the given link could be wrapped up in ” The Mother of Whores”

Ancient Egypt had a plethora of gods/goddesses… prominent was a Mother Goddess….
I think the spirit(s) behind the Babylon religion had also a Mother Goddess worship(I have no many details) and it is in this respect I link Babylon with Jezebel because of idolatry and sexual immorality

Isara Mo Don Richardson wrote a book that argued that many cultures have a concept of the most high God, that they started out with that, and added other spirits and gods to their belief system over time, if I understand his argument right. This was opposed to an anthropological idea that religion starts out as animism.

He had several examples of cultures that had beliefs that aligned with Biblical religion. Historically that makes sense if you take the Bible literally.

I.have locked the main gate..and the main door.
My wife was with a new maid in the kitchen …
I heard “someone” open my door , and audible steps then closed it.
All three of us heard the audible steps…and the door open and close.

African cultures have so many similarities to the Biblical religion especially the Old Covenant rituals.of blood sacrifices…as in the Levitical System….althought they were animists(pagans ?).
Overtime with the introduction of Christianity and Islam most African.cultures embraced either of the two not as a change to their beliefs but a mark of civilisation.
Only in later years, when the message of salvation was preached did many come to true worship in and through Christ.

I have cast out “catholic spirits” out of a girl who had a sister who was a nun..

      Ancestral spirits ?
      Spiritual spouses ?
      Animal spirits?
      Python?…..
I am trying to recall incidences of deliverance where bizarre spirits that I didn’t know of cropped up…

This is the assumption the spirit is OUT of a body..
So if a person is wholly sanctified(easy said, hard to find…though) then we can say Jezebelic infestation is not possible…
But nobody comes to Christ holy and righteous…
If we were dead in our sins…(and you know sin is food for demons)…..it takes awhile and great effort to be dead to our sins.
Logically if we can inherit the law of sin and death from Adam…what about the law of sin and death from our parents..ancestors…
If we can resemble our ancestors in face and character….I cannot deny the possibility of inheriting a Jezebel spirit in one form or another…or any other spirits.

Except that they that sacrifice to idols sacrifice to devils and not to God.

what does this mean then? Who the individual here referred to by the name Jezebel was, is not known. It is by no means probable that this was her real name, but seems to have been given to her as expressive of her character and influence. Jezebel was the wife of Ahab; a woman of vast influence over her husband – an influence which was uniformly exerted for evil. She was a daughter of Ethbaal, king of Tyre and Sidon, and lived about 918 years before Christ. She was an idolater, and induced her weak husband not only to connive at her introducing the worship of her native idols, but to become an idolater himself, and to use all the means in his power to establish the worship of idols instead of the worship of the true God. She was highly gifted, persuasive, and artful; was resolute in the accomplishment of her purposes; ambitious of extending and perpetuating her power, and unscrupulous in the means which she employed to execute her designs.

      Isara Mo

Link Hudson When i view how sin and death affects the whole human race, irrespective of whether they know Christ or not, I would say that equally every human personality has various demonic entities and varying degrees of demonization…
Jezebel was an evil woman in the Bible just like any other men or women who were evil.
For example David was a king who deliberately impregnated his soldiers wife then set up a wicked scheme to kill the soldier.I dont believe that Bethsheba had voluntary sexual intercourse with the King but possibly coersion or rape took place.
The murder of Uriah was cold blood and if David was living in the USA today he would have been indicted of rape and murder and sent to the gallows…and if he was a believer we would cast out demons of lust and murder and scheming(Jezebel schemed to take Naboth”s field remember?)
We can conclusively say David had demonic spirits troubling him in the area of sex as they did to his father Solomon who 1000 wives and a cache of concubines. There must have been a generational transfer of spirits from.father to son…and grandsons(?) blood brother raping blood sister etc
So wickedness is plenty if the Bible caused by people who were “anointed”
King Saul went to consult the witch of Endor…That was wickedness for an “”anointed” to do.
King Manase consulted mediums and witches while enthroned…and went into idolatry.
So Link from these few instances of ” wickedness” we can see personalities that are not ” normal”.
Are they demonic in nature or is it mere flesh the old man nature? As vultures feed on carcass so do demons feed on flesh…old or new inspite of our misguided theologies..on the subject for immediately the person dies whether to sin or a physical death, demonic activities cease.
I concur with you that Jezebel was an evil woman who worshipped demons but the limelight she got for the most part was because she was the presidents wife…and had quietly usurped the presidency and ruthlessly ruled Israel and murdered Gods people(You may ask didn’t David also do the same by killing nnocent Uria?)
Yes David did but David was for God and Jezebel was against God…
Elijah murdered 850 people (400 plus 450) single handedly in a single day…as an act of righteousness and had in two incidents called fire and killed a total of 100 (50plus 50)…Was it justified homicide or cold blood murder?….
And yet God glorified him and took him to heaven ….
Elijah was just a human.being just as Jezebel was a human.being but I think the law that says DON’T SUFFER A WITCH TO LIVE was Jezebel undoing and MY RIGHTEOUS SHALL LIVE BY FAITH prevailed for Elijah…
Link Hudson may I ask you a difficult question : Can God kill?

Isara Mo I do not have the same perspective you doon demons. Men in general may be inclined to recieve demonic influence but I do not think that is the same as being demonized. I do not agree that David would have had to have deliverance from demons. He confessed his sin. He did not say the devil made him do it. Transfer of ancestrial demons to or from David? I see no evidence from that in the Bible. A lot of this demonology has no basis in scripture. I believe demons need to be cast out of some people. I do not believe sin equals demons.

God can slay people and make His enemies sick. I would call the slaying on Mt. Carmel executions not murder. I am not sue about the soldiers. That is an interesting passage.

Link Hudson It is not my intention that we share or have the same perspectives on demons. This is one of the areas where the church is really divided and I have discovered that there are certain things one need not compromise with people….as long as one knows it is truth.
I was only just trying to answer your earlier question (from my perspective)whether humans have personalities composing of demonic entities and whether Jezebel was just an ancient evil Israel woman.
However I am really suprised that you say that a lot of this demonology has no basis in scripture .
The gospels show that a greater part of Jesus ministry involved deliverance and healing and spiritual warfare : I see the apostles do the same and later Paul and others .
When Paul speaks of principalitied, authorities, rulers of darkness of this world and forces of evil in the heavenly places he was talking demonology..
When Daniel prayed an angel was held in the heavenly realm by the prince of Persia(A demon)..
1 Thessa 2:18(?) Paul is blocked from going to minister again and again by Satan..
How do you understand the treading of serpents, scorpions and overcoming all the power of the devil?
I know there are some extremes of teachings on deliverance and warfare which are of outright human origin without scriptural basis but surely there are genuine teachings by genuine ministers on demonology.
Have you listened to Ron Phillips clip on the subject which is posted in this group..?

Isara Mo I believe there are principalities and powers, and that Jesus and the apostles cast out demons. And plenty of believers have cast out demons since. Even some of the ‘children of’ the Pharisees had some success casting out demons in Biblical times.

What I do not agree with is the idea of the average person, or the average sinner having a personality made up of a cluster of demons. I suspect if some of the recently developed techniques of spiritual warfare work, and you can just cast all the demons out of the city by naming a principality after a social ill and casting it out, that sinners are still sinful enough to sin on their own– to keep getting drunk or to keep fornicating–without any help from the devil. John wrote about the world, the flesh, and the devil. The flesh offers plenty of temptation. I don’t know if it has to have a devil helping it to tempt people into sin.

In the Bible, Jesus cast demons out of people who were manifesting demons. He healed one woman who had a ‘spirit of infirmity’. If that means a demon, rather than a spiritual condition, then he healed her of that. But most healing passages say nothing of a demon. The end of Matthew 4 mentions a number of ailments from which Jesus healed people. Demonization is only one of the categories, so I do not assume all the sick had demons. ‘Lunatick’ was a separate category, also. Is there even an example of someone who had a spirit in them where we know the demon was associated with a specific sin besides the spirit of divination. Some of the occultists use familiar spirits and that type of sin can be very much intwined with demons.

But I can’t think of any passage that talks about a murderer, theif, or adulterer being demonized. I’m not saying it couldn’t happen. And if a demon manifests or you get a promping from the Spirit of God to cast out a demon, go for it. But I cannot see where the Bible teaches us that we can say, “He is a thief, so we have to cast out the demon of theft.” or “He is a fornicator, so we must cast out the demon of fornication”. I also do not see where the Bible indicates that excorcism is the cure for every every physical ailment “He lost one foot in an accident, so let us cast out the demon fo one-footedness.’

The view some Charismatics have of the spirit world reminds me a bit of animism, except abstract problems have a specific kind behind them instead of rocks, forests, and trees.

      Who caused Eve to sin?
She had ALWAYS seen the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil to be ” untouchable..un eatable” until Satan came along and spoke with her…then?
“When the woman SAW that the fruit of the tree was good for food…and pleasing to the eye and also DESIRABLE for gaining wisdom she took some and ate”
How long has the tree been there and Eve was with the tree but has never once saw the tree was good for food.
Who caused her to see thus?
It is good to ask.this question and it may remove most of the arguments:

(You know the verses. ) but my foot notes brings out The bed “ refers to false teachers who taught Salvation by works, which was spiritual adultery. Again there was a warning to repent. And getting off this teaching but I had thought of Salvation by works before I read it in my foot notes. But you will know how to bring that out. But back to false teaching I was going to tell about I was studying yesterday was hyper Grace movement. I had heard the teaching but never heard it called that name. Now to me. I hope you don’t believe it. But to me it’s a real false doctrine. They believe that all sin ( past, present , and future ) has already been forgiven: therefore , Christians have no need to confess , repent, or struggle against temptation. According w this false teaching , God sees us as holy even if we are leading sinful lives. Christians are not required to obey the teachings of Jesus: and we are not responsible w our sins. To me what greater false doctrine could you teach , more than that.

Thanks Louise for the elaboration ..you are right on spot” verse 20 does not ” “sound” like a woman but it specifically speaks of a woman…..
I am a bit wary of your Bible footnotes though because the admonition was about a specific prophetess(woman prophet) not ” spiritual fornication and adultery…..(my opinion)…

One of the greatest problems I have encountered in my spiritual pursuit is that men have many times become spokesmen for God in matters God has not spoken.
Who has gone into Gods mind and saw how Gods sees us?To say that God sees us as holy even if we lead sinful lives is utter nonsense….unless of course if there is first-hand witness who once went to heaven and sat down at the right hand of Jesus and viewed us on a large screen and saw us holy even though we are sinners then came back to earth and tell.us thus…then we could possibly believe his assertion…
But as long as we are in the physical realm it is advisable to let the dictates of the Word lead..
There is nowhere in the Bible where it it mentioned that past. present and future sins are forgiven..(Or am I mistaken?) that we don’t need to repent…anymore because Jesus paid for our sins…
A call to holiness is extolled from Genesis to Revelation, and when one reads 1John 1:5 -9 there is no such thing as advance payment for sins or automatic forfeiture of sins…..
      One must repent continuously….
The scripture says God is light and in Him there is no darkness at all.If we say we have fellowship with Him and yet we walk in darkness(sin) we lie and the truth is not in us..But if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to FORGIVE US(Why forgive us again if ALL of our sins have been paid for?)..
Besides when one reads Galatians 5:19 you find that the works of the flesh disqualifies one from entering heaven…
Hyper grace is really a false movement ….a vain imagination, a doctrine if demons, a purposely misleading human created theology, a carnal minded teaching…..
Just watch these preachers closely and you will find that they have No struggle as Paul says in Ephesians 6:12…

Like your comment. God does forgive our sins. If we will confess our sins to God and the Bible goes a step further. Of course you got to believe this first or it would do us any use of confessing our sins. You will know what I’m talking about. But the Bible says , we must believe that Jesus Christ is The Son Of God and believe it and confess it with our mouth. I know you know that. I like you comments. The part also where you said if we do sin. We have an An Savior and Lord that will forgive us if we bring it to Him. What a good Savior. With that kind of Love and Mercy. We do need Grace. The Bible says it’s by Grace through Faith that we ate saved. Grace and Mercy is wonderful. But the Lord didn’t die for us to forgive our sins. And keep on sinning. We would stand before the Lord guilty of sin if we didn’t confess them.

I wouldn’t think I was ever intelligent enough to go into Gods mind. But I have prayed many times. Lord give me the mind of Christ, meaning Lord I need Your leadership. In what to do. Or the way I should take. Bet He also said He would send us another to lead us in all truths and Righteousness. Which is the Holy or Holy Spirit. The Bible says it both ways. I believe is the same. But I love it , when I am studying , The Lord gives me a new revelation or new thought. That I have never thought of it in that way before. I love it when I learn new things from the Bible. And I love to see things as God sees them. I guess that’s the way you feel.

Jezebelic powers operate in conjunction with principalities and powers that torment people. (Ephesians 6:12) These demonic powers include spirits of religion…manipulation, control, lust, perversion, and the occult. They often work in concert with a Jezebel spirit to build strongholds in a person’s mind.

      Troy Day Well said.
Whether people accept it or reject it the truth of the matter is this: Jezebel is real very real and what Troy Day says here is true: call it she/it/ he the spirit is very malicious, a murderer, opposer of anything called God. ..and a source and cause of ALL pressures, oppression, fears and intimidation and terrors, confusion and contradictions in the mind of a believer…producer of all impure thoughts and motives, a mastermind of strife, contentions, divisions, self seeking and self righteousness….pride and arrogance…not to mention ALL FALSE TEACHINGS and deceptions.
She epitomizes Jesus statement of the three fold mission of Satan: to steal, kill and destroy…
If Satan has a right hand guess who is seated at his right hand..(Rev 13:2??) it is Jezebel.
As a spirit she is the STRONGMAN….exerting influence over principalities, authorities, rulers of darkness of this world and forces of evil in the heavenly realms…
Are you good at coordinating verses?
Read Rev 13: 1-2…vs Rev 17;3 especially on the 10 horns and seven heads and blasphemous names….
      Does it make sense?

Rev 13:2b…says” The dragon gave his power ..his throne…and great authority..
Satan has handed his power to someone..
Rev 13:7 says ..”it was given power to wage war AGAINST GOD’S HOLY PEOPLE….AND TO CONQUER THEM…..
and it was given authority over every tribe, people language and nation….”
In Matthew 28:28 Jesus came to his disciples and said”ALL AUTHORITY IN HEAVEN AND EARTH HAVE BEEN GIVEN TO ME…”..
So God has given Jesus ALL AUTHORITY…just as Satan gave his authority to the beast…and not only that but Rev 5: 8….says in part” you were slain and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every :
      Tribe
      Language
      People
      Nation…
      Similar to Rev 13:7,
      Tribe
      Languages
      People
      Nation?
      Just verses for reflection….

Some may be tempted to dismiss Jezebel’s claim based on their belief that women are not allowed to exercise this spiritual gift. A quick look at several texts from the NT will demonstrate that women did indeed prophesy under the influence of the Holy Spirit. That doesn’t mean Jezebel did, but her gender was itself no barrier to the proper exercise of this gift.

I want to suggest that it was possibly (probably?) through this alleged “prophetic” ability that Jezebel gained power and authority in the church at Thyatira and adversely influenced a number of Christians there. It’s not difficult to see how this could (and does) occur. [By the way, a man can display the characteristics of “Jezebel” no less than a woman. This is one sin that is by no means gender specific.]

The “spirit” of “Jezebel” was not unique to the church in Thyatira. It is alive and well in the body of Christ today. One need only read the latest headlines. It is an insidious, yet subtle, spirit. It is destructive, yet enticing. It typically gains momentum among those who are so fearful of quenching the Spirit (1 Thess. 5:19) that they fail to rein in the flesh.

The solution is not to repudiate the prophetic altogether, or any other spiritual gift for that matter. Rather, we must become good Bereans, “examining the Scriptures daily” (Acts 17:11) to see if these things are of God or not. In sum, we would do well to heed Paul’s counsel: “Do not despise prophecies, but test everything; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil” (1 Thess. 5:21-22).

Troy Day Why do you think prompted Apostle Paul to say that WOMEN should keep quiet in the church and if there arise any spritual questions they should ask their husbands(not their pastors) at home?i
I ask this question in light of the discussions on Jezebel and also make me wonder why ALL THE 12 disciples were male even though there lots of females taking care of the Lords needs.

Great points. I do believe can operate in the gifts of The Spirit, when they are filled with The Holy Spirit. I believe that’s the only way you can operate with the gifts. Is to be filled with aThe Holy Ghost. Because if it is not in the Spirit. Then it could very well be in the flesh. The way I see it.
