In 1 John 4:2b, what does John mean by ἐν σαρκὶ ἐληλυθότα? “In flesh [and blood]” or “among humans/men”? And why is this such an important issue?
1Jn 4:2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that
confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,Westcott and Hort / [NA27 variants] Ἐν τούτῳ γινώσκετε τὸ πνεῦμα τοῦ

By the way, my own view is that “John” wrote his letter to correct various misrepresentations of Jesus, such as saying that he was divine or an angel (the message of the antichrists) which he considered idolatry.
Here is the semantic domain of σάρξ, σαρκός from BDAG:

Cruz is not part of the establishment. All the career policitican hate this man with a vengeance in Washington.
How many of us had memorized the Constitution at age 13.
He was the main reason that the Ten Commandments are still displayed in texas.
I could go on and on, although I will day this, if Trump is elected president his Supporters will be as shocked as Obama’s were when his true colors were displayed.
His is a wolve in sheep clothing, he is no different than the Clinton’s.
And how can a Christian who claims to be led of the Holy Spirit support a man who claims he needs no salvation and is so immoral that he has had several affairs, especially when the Apostle Paul lists sexual immorality at the top of the list in I Corn. And in Galatians
David Lewayne Porter
So he is not spotless – which I knew, he is not perfect. He is good some and bad some. He is a deal MAKER, and yes a deal BREAKER.
I have done all I can concerning trump, I votes against him. So until and unless he is the nominee I have nothing else to do with or about him.
[Although there was a couple of interesting points concerning how most people view his children and family that was brought to my attention. I will need to verify those first].

Shame on us for expecting less from some leaders than others (whether in the church or out).
That is why we are in the shape that we are in.

I don’t know what you are talking about at all – the scripture supports the idea of competence in the job – would you want an incompetent Christian like Jimmy Carter or a competent persons whose faith was hard to determine like Lincoln, Washington, Jefferson, Bush, Roosevelt etc
David Lewayne Porter
Stan Wayne
Give me a real question.
That one was weak at best.
Do you consider a man a Christian that had a subscription to playboy before and while he was running for office? (Carter by name).
Here is a question for you.
Do you trust the man or God?
Did not Jesus say that “John 16:13
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.” We are also told that He will teach us all things.
Maybe you forgot Joseph, Daniel, the 3 Hebrew boys.
Maybe that is the issue with the nation (and since you asked me personally) and you. Maybe people that say they trust God don’t unless He moves as they feel He should.
Here is one for you.
Vote for hillary then, she has more experience in politics and Washington than trump, or does she not fit the bill as one that you think God can use?
I have had to do things for the church, my home, and for my employment that I had no idea how to do. I would pray for guidance and go to sleep. I would dream in detail how to do it. When it was time to do the task I would act out the dream exactly and it came out perfectly, as if a professional had preformed the tasks.
My answer,
In everything, everyday, in every situation give me a person lead by God over anyone else.
So then
Where is your faith?
Must not be in GOD.
Stan Wayne

Trump will likely get the 50% in New York to when them all, if he does then he only has to when about 50% of the remaining, and he will do well in CT, RI where there are few evangelicals, I know I lived in Rhode Island and New Englanders are a different breed, he will also do well in PA and MD, that leaves Cruz the little states like SD, DE. and maybe IN depending on Kasich. Face it, Cruz is being used by the establishment to keep Trump under 1237, not to get Cruz to 1237. They want an open convention
David Lewayne Porter
I would expect trump to win NY since they are not cutting for president and the prevailing morality there. (I mean he ain’t a pastor right?) He fits in perfectly, Give me a break.
Stan Wayne
Don’t know what you think a good president is – a spiritual person?
What would be a good surgeon or pilot? A spiritual man?
David Lewayne Porter
Ok I will take your argument,..
and trump knows national defense, national economics, trump has been in all the places and had the training for the office that he is running for and all that it entails?
Your argument defeats your own candidate because the standards you put forth of others he does not possess for a nation. Eventually you are going to run into that he has to wing it.
You have to have faith that he can pull it off. He has no political experience and the only way he has been able to get politicians to work with him is by paying them off (contributions – to be politically correct). Those that refuse him in business transactions – by his record, gets sued or ran over in bureaucracy. So much for being able to work with others.
Is that the experience you are talking about. He calls ted a liar, trump contradicts himself and often within the same speech. But for trump it is changing his position and over looking things while for others it is lying.
I don’t need trump and he will never get my vote against anyone.
Stan Wayne
We have been waiting for a citizen – a non establishment non politician because they have been terrible
David Lewayne Porter
Agreed, but I don’t think trump is the answer.
I agree that a lot of what he says needs to happen, I just don’t think that he is the one to do it. I believe he will sell us citizens out to the establishment if that is,what it takes for him to look good like he is getting things done.
That is all I am saying.
His record backs that up.
Terry Wiles
David Lewayne Porter Trump might. But all the rest of them will. Just close your eyes and pull any lever.
David Lewayne Porter
Terry Wiles
I have already voted, voted for cruz, and I did so with both eyes WIDE Open.
Terry Wiles
David Lewayne Porter ?
Carl Murphy
I respect a guy that makes a mistake and admits it
David Lewayne Porter
Lol, we will see where the mistake comes into play.
Hold your breath friend.
?
Carl Murphy
David Lewayne Porter yes, when
Hillary wins and the senate flips
David Lewayne Porter
(Well, let me take the stance of some others)
If it be God’s will, I guess it will happen. (Yawn, cough)
Carl Murphy
Neither Trump not Cruz will beat Hillary, barring an act of God or the FBI
Stan Wayne
You don’t know the power of Trump to attack – we shall see
Carl Murphy
I know the power of the ballot box
Stan Wayne
A good president now would only need to build a WALL
David Lewayne Porter
So a wall fixes everything?
Only a wall.
Wow, I am so glad you got it all figured up into one issue, why don’t you run then?
Stan Wayne
That is ALL he would need to accomplish to be very great in this hour – but fair trade, support for Syrian Christians, non support for Syrian Muslims, tax change, repatriation of overseas investment, stopping China and Japan from taking advantage, ending remittances south of border – all would make even a non Christian president very very very great
David Lewayne Porter
That is not what you said is it?
You said
“ONLY NEED TO BUILD A WALL”.
I see how quick that changed.
Stan Wayne
Brother – you are not reading slowly and carefully enough
David Lewayne Porter
A good president now would only need to build a WALL
Your entire post,
What am I not reading slowly enough or carefully enough?
Stan Wayne
Just vote – too much energy – pray for best man for God’s purposes to win
David Lewayne Porter
I did, I voted for cruz
Stan Wayne
Ok I will vote Trump with my fam Tuesday
David Lewayne Porter

Donald Trump has a big delegate problem and it seems he is just now figuring this out. Lots of talk but not enough votes https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2016/04/11/did-donald-trump-realize-he-has-a-big-delegate-problem-too-late/?wpisrc=nl_az_most

I was gonna say sth. about Cruz and Trump loosing to Clinton, but this is much better http://observer.com/2016/04/panama-papers-reveal-clintons-kremlin-connection/
Carl Murphy
Thing about it is this Troy, people have made up their minds on Hillary, there are very few that will change their minds. The question is how many anti Clinton folks or apathetic voters will show up at the polls? The republicans are all shooting each other, the dems are not. It will be like the last two presidential elections where the republicans are not excited, or their feelings are hurt and they simply sit at home. This election is like the election of 1860. There the democrats could not decide on a candidate so the party split, ran two extreme candidates, one on each end of the spectrum and then Bell ran on a “can’t we all just get along” ticket, the vote was split and the republican won while carrying less than 40% of the popular vote. There will be two republican parties this time as well, the one with a candidate on the ballot and the one that is not, whose supporters simply will not vote
Varnel Watson
yeah, sorry about that http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/clinton-winner-november-trump-presidency-inspires-anxiety-poll/story?id=36555715

Richard A Hodges Jr. may have raised a valid point against Trump in another discussions. I too think Trump stands no chance But reading through all the comments from Angie Bolding McAlpin and Ruth Brigantti how do you think this fits prophetically our times? Should Pentecostals PRAY for TRUMP to become our president? Terry Wiles Stan Wayne http://www.pentecostaltheology.com/should-pentecostals-pray-for-donald-trumps-presidency/ John Ruffle Many were surprised how many Christians already voted Trump and many will be surprised how many Christians will vote Clinton
Stan Wayne
The prognostications are nothing more than wishful thinking.
Look at Brexit.
Show me a prophet who predicts what he doesn’t want to happen.

Jon Ray
Stan Wayne Aren’t you an immigrant yourself?
Stan Wayne
Legal – some of my Scottish ancestors landed here and Canada while others such as great grandfather landed in Australia
Richard A Hodges Jr.
I Believe you can pray and pray for Trump but until Trump comes to the True God and bends down to a higher power and ask for the forgiveness of the ignorance of his mouth and his actions on TV making fun of a Reporter with a Disability and calling Clinton Names and the list goes on! and what SHOCK’S me is that Christian’s are Falling for this man! and Liberty University gives him praise for what? being a Republican lol oh dear Christian’s i know its trouble times, but for your Question Troy Day I do think he has a part dealing with the End Times but not in a Good way ,He has lot’s of Money and to tell a man like that NO is not in his Nature to say yes, in Order for him to win is to keep Believing the trash that come’s out of that wicked tongue of his! I still can not believe any one of Faith would vote for him ,this is where i would say Evil comes in many ways , and if the Church would go back to its roots and learn how to live in the steps of Jesus and Tap into the Holy Ghost and when we have Church and we go in to praise and worship the one thing that i have noticed in the pentecostal church every service is planned out to what songs are played and how long they are played and if they dont stop the pastor will not get his lot of time ,what happen to the time where Worship was the center of the service and let the Holy Ghost take’s control again.and about Trump if any body Vote’s for Him ,its like giving the Devil the Keys to the kingdom.
Carl Murphy
So to be a true Christian he must do exactly as you say. How is that any different from the Pharisees saying you have to keep 600 rules to be a Jew? I thank God that I am not judged by man, or by man’s rules. I grew up thinking I’m going to hell if I go see Mary Poppins at the movies, or take my girl friend to the beach and a host of other crazy rule some uneducated Pentecostal preachers made up to so you can be holy. Holiness comes from within to the without not from without to within. I intend to vote for Trump because I don’t like Hillary and two I think Trump has been mistreated and I am a sucker for the underdog. I did not vote for him in the primary but I will do so now. Whether he bows, dances or simply stands in the presence of Jesus the Nazarene. Whether he praises God on the street corner or in the still quietness of alone at midnight.
Richard A Hodges Jr.
G’Day Mate, I’m not Judging him I’m just pointing out some of the things he has doneI like mocking
Carl Murphy
For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. I like to think that Jesus and the 12 told jokes, played jokes and enjoyed life. Not sat around just staring at the walls.
Richard A Hodges Jr.
the reporter ,Trump is a Asshole point blank
Carl Murphy
And opinions as like the orifice mentioned, everyone has one and they all smell
Richard A Hodges Jr.
Well yes I live in America half the year and THE ,nq other half in Australia where me and my boyfriend go to Hillsong’s Church
Carl Murphy
Gee in Zimbabwe you could get killed for that
John Ruffle
Trump is going to be your next president. Get used to it. And get used to the ring of iron security detail he’ll be surrounded by. You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.
Richard A Hodges Jr.
Well if he is going to be president then why are we having a election? and I don’t have to worry about America I may have been born here but my mother is a Aussie so I think Jesus everyday that I have Duel Citizenship Mate
Richard A Hodges Jr.
And BTW John Ruffle if he needs that much iron to protect him why would you want some one like that running your country ?
Carl Murphy
Honestly? The OP is Asinine
John Ruffle
How can it be? The OP is a question.
Varnel Watson
No it cant. It’s like asking how many Christians voted for BrExit. Calling names is always a sure sign of argument weakness
Varnel Watson
The church has a definite political and social responsibility within society. The apostle Paul openly proclaimed the church’s triumphant political manifesto within the Roman Empire. Major part of the church fathers wrote about the church’s political place not only in this present world but within the scope of the eschatological reality as well. I would restrain calling any discussion on that Bible sanctioned validity asinine (extremely stupid or foolish). What may seem foolish to the world is not so for God. More importantly today Gainesville minister was named to Trump Evangelical Advisory Board http://accesswdun.com/article/2016/6/414319/gainesville-minister-named-to-trump-evangelical-advisory-board
Carl Murphy
I stand by my statement and I point you to the adiaphora. I refer you to Acts chapter 4 as to how the church is to act in society. I might add that “early church fathers” were mere men with their own political agenda. I missed Paul’s triumphant political manifesto.
Varnel Watson
I can send you a paper on the manifesto but good point from Acts 4. Too bad Turmp will not win #unfortunately Stan David Lewayne Porter
Stan Wayne
Wishful thinking Troy
Carl Murphy
So then Paul’s manifesto is not in the Bible. It’s just someone’s commentary. As to Trump, watch Ohio and Pennsylvania and you will know how the election will turn. Keep in mind a national opinion poll means nothing. So what if 75% of the people in California dislike Trump? There are 51 separate elections and all you need it a plurality in each.
John Ruffle
Someone here wants Hilary?
Carl Murphy
LOL, after all she is a Methodist if in name only
John Ruffle
Sure, and I am a Martian

I am identifying this week as a sixteen year old.

Here in my section of the country the vote has traditionally gone 74% to the republicans. The north Georgia mountains and all of east Tennessee are considered the most conservative districts in the United States. In the 1930’s millions were poured into the Tn. valley via the TVA to make it a beautiful and functional place. The war years brought millions more to the Oak Ridge and TNT installations. The 50’s brought us super highways and in the 60’s billions were allocated to update our school systems. Since then hundreds of big companies have moved in to take advantage of a compliant and better educated work force, albeit still with cheaper wages. All this has not changed the mindset. There is a great distrust of government in our DNA. All this to say that Trump will likely get a lot of votes, people will look over his three marriages or the fact that he operates gambling casinos including all the carnality that goes with them. We are `sot` in our ways!
Louise Cummings
I haven’t voted yet. But I have every plan to vote Trump.
