“A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a
man put on a woman’s garment, for all who do so are an abomination to
the Lord your God.” ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭22‬:‭5‬ ‭NKJV

Vs

Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous
judgment.” ‭‭John‬ ‭7‬:‭24‬ ‭NKJV

‬‬Q: How are we to judge somebody in a Christian congregation who is not wearing proper clothing (ac. to Deut 22:5) when Jesus said not to judge according to “appearance”?

John 7:24 has nothing to do with clothing.

If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath so that the Law of Moses will not be broken, are you angry with Me because I made an entire man well on the Sabbath?
Do not judge according to appearance,
    but judge with righteous judgment.

“Appearance” has to do, in this context, with what something looks like on the surface and legalistically judging it.
We must examine things carefully so we may make a righteous assessment and proceed accordingly.

Related is “judge not lest you be judged.” That’s not prohibiting judgment but a warning against judgmental hypocrisy.

Deu 22:5 is prohibition of what today we would call trans. What is understood as men’s versus women’s clothing changes with technology, the kind of labor men and women do along with styles. So, one must not make an external judgement.

The intention is mostly what the concern is and also the kind of signals that sends out .or the message that it sends out . And the attraction associated with that . Are they trying to.attract the same sex . Such as Trans or gay

And twisted thinking . But if a man offers his jacket to his wife because she is cold or visa versa then that is not what the scripture is talking about

If it’s 30゚ outside And then
The husband passes his jacket to his wife to keep her warm then thats o
Not sin . Because the motive is to make his wife warm . But if the woman puts on male attire for the purpose of attracting the same sex then that is what the scripture is talking about . That is the abomination

Jesus meant you should judge nothing by its appearance. Even for today. How many on here would judge a person salvation by the things they do or habits they partake in? Let’s not be hypocrites now. We must separate salvation from sanctification and a lot of the religion today teaches salvation looks like this or that, but we are called not to judge what someone faith which yours when your faith isn’t up to what they allow. Jesus Christ died for all of our iniquities even our hypocrisies, was buried and rose from the dead the third day, and all those who believe by faith alone are saved and righteous before God at the moment they believe this, no obedience to anything. By faith we are justified not of works, but if it is of works it’s not faith. That’s why Jesus said not to judge by appearance. The simplicity in the gospel allows all of us who has it wrong to come to God so we can judge righteously and a person’s heart because once a heart is changed the person’s talk will change, for works are not what we think it is.

    James 3:13 KJV
Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

So is your good works(talk) saying faith alone in Jesus Christ’s death, burial and resurrection is enough unto Salvation or are you bad works(talk) saying something else unto damnation? Check your hearts because too many catastrophic events are about to happen to get caught up in silliness thinking you were saved just to get left behind? I’m serious. Jesus is coming and you need to be sure you’re leaving when I am. Faith alone

Jesus said that it was the scriptures, the writings of Moses, and the prophets that testified of him. He often appealed to the authority of the scriptures when teaching his disciples, answering the challenges of the scribes and Pharisees and even when battling the devil head on. Today, Christians still have the same scriptures Jesus used. In addition, we have the words and works of Jesus recorded in the Gospels. We also have the Acts and letters of the apostles. These writings make up the 27 books of the New Testament. None of the books were produced after the era of the Apostles. Church councils were a necessary part of church history clarifying what Christians believed based upon these inspired and authoritative writings of Holy Scripture. Yet traditions and creeds are not equal in authority to the words of Christ and His apostles recorded in the holy scriptures themselves.
