Some contemporary churches claim that God’s Holy Spirit is physically manifested during services when a “cloud” suddenly appears near the ceiling inside the building, with fine particulates of supposed gold dust lightly falling over and settling on the congregation. These specially anointed churches also claim that after extended prayer times, people have found various sizes of feathers – purportedly from angels’ wings – along with diamonds and other precious gems on and underneath their seats. Many individuals even report these same things happening in their homes, and even in their cars, during and after they’ve prayed. Can these claims be verified, is there any basis that these are true and from God?, does the Bible teach that angels have feathered wings?, and what does God’s Word truly teach about such supposed “signs and wonders” ?

I saw some of it in the 1980s. the shimmering stuff was real. But the problem remains, was it relly from God?

It really is a shame that people chase after this sort of thing rather than the Lord Himself.
The treasure that I have found is plain to see in the scripture itself.

A pastors son from Europe was all against it
Went to a meeting and saw gold dust
Said was real. Changed his life forever
I have never seen it As Paul God has left me last
Tells us more what did you see for real?

Troy Day About 20 years ago , when I was still a lay person at St. Jude’s, a lady came to Wed. night Prayer and Praise, During the worship her hair started to emit gold colored glitter in copious amounts. I smeared some on my security guard uniform but my wife was wise enough to put some on various pages of her bible. A few specs still abide there. The stuff is not gold, but silicone, with various tints of gold blue, or gold green, etc..

There’s an “apostle” Angel Maldonado who supposedly has gold dust in his services. I recently read the testimony of a woman in that church who was in charge of putting golden dust in the air conditioner ducts… she’s now a cessacionist. I don’t believe this non sense.

Are these real scholars ? In their video “Apostles prophets and prophecy” one them said Paul was the 12th apostle in the book of revelation . and the other agreed ? The 12 apostles of the Lamb are eyewitnesses of Christ suffering and his resurrection . sadly I question their expertise on pentecostal theology . even though they did have some reasonable arguments against the strange “manifestations” of gold dust etc etc .

Joe Absher ok, so respectfully I ask you. Who was the 12th Apostle if it wasn’t Paul? It certainly wasn’t Judas the original.

Wasn’t it Jesus who called Paul personally and used Him mightily?

I don’t classify myself as a scholar at all (who truly is?) But, I’ve read Revelations many many many times and it doesn’t say who the 12th Apostle is by name. But it certainly seems to be a great possibility that it’s Paul. He was used to write the majority of the Bible as God inspired Him of course. He was a tremendous figure in the start of the church and a staunch defender of Jesus like no other.

I personally do believe it will be Paul. However, no man knows yet. One day we shall see ?

James Michael Sanders The 12th Apostle was Matthias.

Acts 1:12-26 King James Version (KJV)

12 Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day’s journey.

13 And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.

14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)

16 Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.

17 For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.

18 Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.

19 And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.

20 For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.

21 Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,

22 Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.

23 And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.

24 And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,

25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.

26 And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

Kevin Bryan yes brother I’m aware that the men selected Matthias to replace Judas by casting lots. Yet Jesus called Paul personally face to face and taught Him in ways He taught no other. Paul was clear that He was an Apostle in the inspired Word as well.

Not saying Mathias was or wasn’t an Apostle. I’m simply saying from what I can see Paul was the Lords choice.

Just my humble opinion. I believe Paul will be among the 12 mentioned in Revelation.

But if you disagree, I can completely respect that ?

“And he ordained twelve, that THAT THEY SHOULD BE WITH HIM, and that he might send them forth to preach,
      – Mark 3:14
And ye are witnesses of these things.
      Jhn 15:27
And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.
      Act 1:3

To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

Paul wasn’t even saved at the time . the 12 apostles of the Lamb are eyewitnesses to Christ suffering and resurrection .

I know there are better verse I couldn’t find just yet . my apologies . I’ll try again later.
but my effort wasn’t to get off topic . the question raised about strange “manifestations” are important . we clearly ought to try the spirit every spirit that would influence the direction of the church and biblical teaching . and how we represent of Christ Jesus the saviour . he said so himself .
And let’s not forget also there are scoffers and false brethren even among us here at Pentecostal Theology

I fully believe God could allow His Shekinah glory to be seen again. Or great signs etc. But I agree with the men and their points in the video.

I think to many Pentecostals just blindly accept anything as the Holy Spirit and to me that’s a lack of wisdom and discernment. Certainly shows they don’t study His Word as they should.

I think we can equally be endanger of being to critical as well though.

    Balance is needed always.

I love their point about the proof being “the fruit of the Spirit” in our lives. I actually had some Pentecostal brothers and sisters get angry at me for teaching about the Fruit of the Spirit in a sermon series. They loved my series on the gifts of the Spirit, but, they didn’t want to hear about the fruit that the Holy Spirit cultivates in our lives when we truly belong too and yield to Him daily.

Years ago a brother and I were praying late at night. We had the lights off except the green exit sign.

I opened my eyes and could see the ceiling shrouded in a white mist or cloud..

After we finished we were outside briefly talking before leaving and I looked up and saw a rectangular cloud right above us.

I asked him if he saw it. He said “see what?” So I looked at him and he was looking up and said “oh now I see it!”.

When I looked back up the cloud was further up and disappeared out of sight

Most people today do not understand the fruits of the Holy Spirit, especially speaking in tongues. The Baptist Preachers do not practice the speaking and interpretation of tongues because they do not believe that it is for us today. I was originally a Church of God In Christ member when I got saved in March 6, 1983. I have the gift of tongues.
