Christ in You, His Gift of Righteousness, the Profound Truth of Maturity – Ray E Horton

Would you like to be at peace and experience joy in living? Its all tied into Christian maturity. True maturity is not a maturity of age, not even a matter of age in the Lord. It isn’t even how well we know the Word of God. There are many spiritual babes who have been Born Again for 10, 30, 50 years and have read the Bible through often, yet leading defeated lives.

Maturity has more to do with how much the Word and Spirit has transformed your heart to reflect more the image of Jesus. It has to do with going beyond the milk, the foundations, and coming to a realization of who you are in Christ. It’s about having had the Word of Righteousness (His righteousness gifted to us) become a central part of our lives so that we live out of it, no longer depending on our own good deeds.

“There are many spiritual babes who have been Born Again for 10, 30, 50 years and have read the Bible through often, yet leading defeated lives.”

For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the Word of Righteousness, for he is a babe” (Heb. 5:13). This is the mystery of the ages revealed to us: “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Col. 1:27). Until that becomes real in our hearts, we are but children, susceptible to every wind of doctrine and the lies and accusations of the enemy.

With that profound truth in our hearts, we can maturely approach life from His perspective, receiving all that we need from Him, Who “by His divine power has granted to us everything we need for life and godliness” (2 Peter 1:3) We can then boldly reach the world around us as His ambassador, building up and encouraging fellow believers in this truth so that they will mature as well.

Let us purpose to grow up in Jesus

Then, we are be free to allow the love of Christ in our hearts to overflow with His light shining through us and the Spirit of Truth equipping us to boldly use the spiritual gifts to effectively touch the natural world with His supernatural grace.

Christian maturity brings great peace, as well as the joy of bearing much fruit. Let us purpose to grow up in Him by letting go of our stubborn ways and yielding by faith to the fruit and truth and power that He has placed within us.

It is not difficult! It is a matter of trusting Him, surrender and availability, not self-effort. As Jesus said in Matt. 11:30, “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” The end is near – the time is now!

Psa_68:19  Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.
Psa_103:2  Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
Psa_116:12  What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?

Many Christians do not enjoy the benefits of Calvary because they have not read Isaiah chapter 53. While they are trusting in Jesus to be born again
They are oblivious to the gifts and benefits that were made available when Jesus suffered and died on Calvary’s cross
    Which are;
Isa 53:4  Surely HE HATH BORNE our griefs and CARRIED OUR SORROWS yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
Isa 53:5  But he was WOUNDED for our transgressions, he was BRUISED for our iniquities: the CHASTISEMENT of our peace was upon him, and WITH HIS STRIPES we are healed.
Isa 53:6  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

“There are many spiritual babes who have been Born Again for 10, 30, 50 years and have read the Bible through often, yet leading defeated lives.”

This unfortunate situation can be remedied by teaching believers who they are now in Christ, with the power to overcome.
