It would do good to give it up for some period of time, if you use that time for something to Edify God. Like putting more study to the Word Of God. Or visiting the sick , or doing something good for someone. If not to give yourself to God to fast. And pray. But to me is setting aside food to fast and pray for a certain period of time. Is fasting. Thee other I would call sacrifices. Both are good.
