“When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, WHAT IS MANKIND THAT YOU ARE MINDFUL OF THEM, human beings that you care for them?” (Psa. 8:3-4) [But why does David not mention of the sun, which outshines them all? Maybe because this was a night-walk, and moon-light, that he entertained himself with this reflection, when the sun was not within view, but only the moon and the stars, though they are not altogether so usable to man as the sun is, yet they are demonstrations of the wisdom, power, and goodness of the Creator!] “LORD, our Lord, HOW MAJESTIC IS YOUR NAME IN ALL THE EARTH!” (Psa. 8:9) [While praying over this Psalm, we must not forget to acknowledge, with proper affection, God’s favors to us, mainly the fact that we are the inferior creatures that we are, yet we must specifically be ready to give glory to our Lord Jesus, by acknowledging that he is Lord, submitting to him as our Lord, and waiting till we see all things put under Him!] “You have searched me, LORD, and YOU KNOW ME. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.” (Psa. 139:1-2) [Our Lord God has perfect knowledge of us, and that all the purposes and actions; of our inward man and our outward man because they are naked and open before him!] “You discern [ya?da?, you “know, in a personal and intimate way”] my going out and my lying down; YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH ALL MY WAYS. Before a word is on my tongue YOU, LORD, KNOW IT COMPLETELY.” (Psa. 139:3-4) [When we speak to our Abba Father, about Himself we find ourselves concerned to speak with the utmost intimacy, sincerity and reverence, which greatly pleases Him, even though He knows what we will say!] “You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. WHERE CAN I GO FROM YOUR SPIRIT? Where can I flee from your presence? (Psa. 139:5-7) [Wherever we are WE ARE UNDER THE EYE AND HAND OF GOD.] “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I AM FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” (Psa. 139:13-14)

Be blessed as you praise The Lord, knowing that WE ARE FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE! -Bill Stockham
