In the Book of Job, after Job has went through his first test from Satan there is another gathering in Heaven and, once again, Satan is there (Job 2:1-3). The result of this gathering is that Job will have to endure another test. This is explained in Job 2:4-6. In verse 4, Satan replies to God with the following statement.
Job 2:4 (NIV):
“Skin for skin!” Satan replied.” A man will give all he has for his own life.
But stretch out your hand and strike his flesh and bones,
and he will surely curse you to your face.”
What is the meaning of “skin for skin”? It would appear that Satan has “sealed the deal” by skin in exchange for skin.
In Job 19:20 the word skin is recorded twice, although in a different context:
I am nothing but skin and bones;
I have escaped by only the skin of my teeth.
Interestingly, the above verse implies that Job has escaped “death” only by the skin of his teeth. This is after Satan was told by God.
Job 2:6:
The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, he is in your hands; but you must spare his life.”

come on Glynn Brown tell John Mushenhouse from your special open revelation what was meant here IS IT – In Job, when Satan says ‘Skin for skin,’ he’s suggesting that people will do anything to protect themselves physically—even if it means risking everything else. It’s a challenge that humans value their own survival above all and will trade anything for their health. This phrase shows how Satan tries to undermine Job’s integrity, arguing that if Job’s body is harmed, his faithfulness might not endure. The verse is a powerful reminder of the spiritual test Job faces and God’s confidence in Job’s faithfulness OR NOT?

Troy Day that is exactly what satan was exclaiming. He was saying that as long as it was Job’s family and not Job himself he could stay faithful.

Glynn Brown As I said earlier, I don’t usually comment in this group because I find it much to do about nothing; however, by your baseless comment it would infer you know me, which you do not. As far as the KJV cult you refer to, I feel deserves some explanation. I have read the Bible completely through 22 times in different versions and translations. I currently us 9 different versions for my devotionals, as well as the original languages. No mister Brown, you do not know me at all.
