We are very pleased to have Dr. Estrelda Alexander as our speaker. Dr. Alexander will also be preaching on Tuesday morning in chapel.

An ordained Church of God minister, Dr. Alexander is president of William Seymour College in the nation’s capital, and a recognized scholar of Black Pentecostalism. Her published books include: •· Black Fire Reader (2013), •· Black Fire: 100 Years of African American Pentecostalism (2011), •· Limited Liberty: The Ministry and Legacy of Four Pentecostal Women Pioneers (2008), and •· The Women of Azusa Street (2005).

She also co-edited two works with Amos Yong: •· Phillip’s Daughters: Women in the Pentecostal Movement (2009) and •· Afro-Pentecostalism: Black Pentecostal and Charismatic Christianity in History and Culture (2012).

Dr. Alexander’s current project is a multi-volume Dictionary of Pan African Pentecostalism.

The purpose of the Azusa Lecture is to highlight the rich heritage of the Pentecostal movement and to provide an opportunity to celebrate the legacy of the Pentecostal revival. The Dixon Pentecostal Research Center launched the annual lecture in 2006 on the occasion of the centennial of the revival at the Azusa Street Mission in Los Angeles.

The lecture and the Spirit of Azusa Award presentation will be in the Dixon Chapel of the North Cleveland Church of God. For those who are unable to attend it will be live streamed at www.nccog.org.

Thank you in advance for helping to support this event.
