In “The Cost of Discipleship,” Bonhoeffer rebuked nominal Christians: “Cheap grace is the preaching of forgiveness without requiring repentance, baptism without church discipline. Communion without confession. Cheap grace is grace without discipleship, grace without the cross, grace without Jesus Christ.”

“If we don’t have the proper fundamental moral background, we will finally wind up with a totalitarian government which does not believe in rights for anybody except the state.” ~Pres. Harry S. Truman

I’ve just recently found a love for Bonhoeffer…his story is an amazing testimony and I find his theology challenging in a very good way.

And his theology closely reflects story personal story and experience as a believer

I don’t think the american church knows to much about discipleship. Its foreign to such an independent and self absorbed people.

This was a key book that greatly influenced me during my freshman year in college. I committed to a life of discipleship and discipling others.
