Pray for Venezuela!

Please pray for the people of Venezuela. They have just voted out a 17 year old communist government. The Army and security forces are highly politicized and it is entirely possible that a coup will develop to prevent the elected parliamentary majority from being effective. Communism does a lot of damage to the spiritual fabric of nations, so the people of Venezuela need our prayers to assist their healing and reconstruction process.

Do you see this as the fruits of the Social Gospel in Venezuela http://www.pentecostaltheology.com/gutierrezs-book-a-theology-of-liberation-designed-by-kgb/

John Kissinger [12/08/2015 9:16 AM]
David Rollings By the 60s the KGB and its DS2-6/Shtazi branches in other block countries figured out they cannot win against the church. This was the time the KGB institutes in Wienna and East Berlin were designing a global strategy to export socialist/Marxist revolution models to 3rd world countries, much like in nowadays was the Arab Spring. You may also remember the Cuban missile crises – a direct result and actually a success of the said strategy. A part of the “rev.expo-rt” they called it, were religious models that could control the church and to use its influence toward marxi-fication of the intelligentsia. In Eastern Europe this was done with trained government agents posted as priests and pastors within many congregation. Secret dossiers proving this are just now becoming public. ( Ilya Okhotnikov can attest to that ) In Latin countries where the Catholic church ( John Ruffle ) had historic influence KGB used theological trends – the social gospel being just one of them. Ion Mihai Pacepa had not a small role in this http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/former-soviet-spy-we-created-liberation-theology-83634/ For example, the Cuban Church was never weak but its strength was used in the wrong direction until recently. It will now experience sudden revival for 2-3 years until they put another hold on it, much like it was done in Eastern Europe in 1990-93 http://www.pentecostaltheology.com/a-wonderful-summary-of-the-changes-and-explosive-growth-of-the-cuban-church/ All this said presuming you’ve read GUTIERREZ’S BOOK A THEOLOGY OF LIBERATION, right?

John Kissinger [12/08/2015 9:32 AM]
David Rollings During the years of exile from Nazi Germany – the 1930s – Marcuse gradually liberated himself from Heidegger’s sway and moved closer to orthodox Marxism, albeit a Marxism with a strong Hegelian bent. This phase culminated in Reason and Revolution (1941), Marcuse’s finest work and possibly the best book on Hegel https://www.marxists.org/history/etol/newspape/isr/vol29/no06/langston.htm

David Rollings [12/08/2015 9:35 AM]
Yes I have read Theology of Liberation and that is why I cannot accept that the KGB is behind it. The influence of Marcuse philosophy is to be found on every page of A Theology of Liberation, when I first read A theology of Liberation in the 1970’s soon after it was published I noticed the similarity between Marcuse book “on Liberation” and then noticed that there were footnotes referring to it. Marcuse was the foremost thinker of the New Left which despised the USSR as betrayers of Marxism. I recognised the similarities because as a young man I had been involved in the New Left and therefore know the thinking from the inside. But by God’s grace I was delivered from all of that when I became a Christian. I have just seen your additional post Marcuse certainly developed his thinking after writing Reason and Revolution as can be seen in his one dimensional man and on Liberation.

John Kissinger [12/08/2015 9:41 AM]
though open and official despise wold have been a great cover

David Rollings [12/08/2015 9:41 AM]
I gave lectures on a Critique of Liberation theology at L’Abri fellowship in the 1970’s these are still available.http://www.soundword.com/l-abri-rollings–david.html

John Kissinger [12/08/2015 9:44 AM]
very nice – is there a free transcript or video? http://america.aljazeera.com/articles/2015/9/22/pope-embraces-liberation-theology.html

David Rollings [12/08/2015 9:46 AM]
I can’t keep up with the responses very well, in 1968 Iwas talking to a leading member of the British Communist party and he showed me documents coming from Moscow which showed that British Communists should have nothing to do with the new left. The documents described the thinking of Marcuse as dangerous. being as I was sitting in the office of the Communist Party of Great Britain I had no reason to disbelieve him.

David Rollings [12/08/2015 9:47 AM]
I am afraid not they are only available on CD.

John Kissinger [12/08/2015 9:48 AM]
at least in the case of Venezuela, Chavez, KGB and liberation theology are very well connected http://venezuelanalysis.com/analysis/2312

John Kissinger [12/08/2015 10:06 AM]
What better way for Moscow to discredit Marcuse than have his student GUTIERREZ write a know-how book on Christian Revolution i.e. Social Gospel Liberation Theology? At least in the case of Venezuela, Chavez, KGB and liberation theology are very well connected http://venezuelanalysis.com/analysis/2312

Jim Kingsnorth [12/08/2015 10:55 AM]
Hold up here, is this the William DeArteaga? The one who wrote quenching the Spirit?

Terry Wiles Dan Irving Results from Russian invented liberation theology? http://www.pravoslavie.ru/english/79216.htm

What difference would it make if the KGB had supported liberation theology? The implied answer, however, is that this would be proof that liberation theology is bad. But it is important to remember that, in the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith’s 1984 Instruction on Certain Aspects of Theology of Liberation, perhaps the central error of “certain forms of liberation theology” is this:

The only true consciousness, then, is the partisan consciousness. It is clear that the concept of truth itself is in question here, and it is totally subverted: there is no truth, they pretend, except in and through the partisan praxis (VIII.4). David Rollings

a def response given to our question yesterday
RT William DeArteaga I feel great joy in seeing President Maduro apprehended and whisked away from Venezuela. I have been praying for this for years. But President Trump’s new conference on the topic was a great shock/disappointment. Rather than stress the liberation of the Venezuelan people, and the end of the drug highway from Venezuela, he touted how U.S. companies will now get control of Venezuelan oil. This is what the Latin American Left had been saying, we don’t care about liberty, it’s all about oil. Awful. Let us pray for anew era of peace and freedom in Venezuela and a rapid transition to a democratic government.

    * great joy in seeing President Maduro apprehended is praising Trump and Putin
    * both extend same disregard to intl law and UN world peace Philip WilliamsPhilip Williams
    * never mind attacking a sovereign nation @ night with NO Congress approval
    * Noriega Panama 1988 and ex-president of Honduras in 2022

Neil Steven Lawrence Nelson Banuchi Jim Price John Mushenhouse DEF expected much more common sense from BOTH for our @highlight

BTW Terry Wiles TRUMP did this in 2022 when he himself was arrested and NOW with them files and pictures coming out of the woods

Jose Oscar Salinas Jr. tell Oscar Valdez to join us now The TIME for Conquistadorial and colonial theology toward the global south is OVER Bridges to people and culture do not work any longer because they never touch the water of troubled cross-cultural issues. For the same reason, contextual theology does not work any more – once faced with the deep cross-cultural crises of faith and conviction, it sinks with no hope.

We have long observed the collapse of the “Western Theological Corpus,” as Andrew Walls calls the structural problem in missions today. Main reason for its collapse is the failure to give answers to the theological questions emerging from the Global South. As a result, the colonial approach of doing missions, resonating in imperialistic cross-cultural ministry and ethnic conquest for assimilation of cultures, all have failed both the indigenous people and the mission sending agencies. Prayer has hence turned into a protest and prophecy for a new reality, where the encounter of missions is no less than the very cross-roads where we encounter God and others together.

Having spent decades working with missionary efforts in Central and South America I can attest to the atrocities of corrupt leaders who are supported by Marxist powers. When Maduro came into power I observed 100’s of thousands, probably millions, who flooded into Columbia and Peru in attempts to escape the murders of all who would not bow to the anti-Christ powers. I was there in the 80’s in Guatemala when the Sandinistas attempted to take over the country. Those powers, and others like them, still work to steal, kill, and destroy which is the nature of their father. And they are quick to rise up in the USA promoting lawlessness. It is happening quickly, an openly, before our eyes.

The only people I see protesting are those who are aligned with the corrupt regime’s. The common people are celebrating.

This is the dawning of a new age. In many ways it is a fulfillment of Biblical prophecy. Perhaps Trump will be the last leader of the USA as we have known it. Ultimately there is The God of Heaven and Earth who is orchestrating things. Our prayer must be “Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.”

Our biblical mission is clear. We are to go into all the world and preach the Gospel. And while we do that we are challenged to “Hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church”, verses the 24 hour news cycle. The words of Christ ring out the ominous warning. “Behold I am coming quickly.” The imminent return is just that. Christ could come today for me and for you.
