If you want a challenge that rocked and reformed my entire moral theology and apologetics, read Jonathan Haidt’s the righteous mind as a deconstruction and then Alasdair MacIntyre’s After Virtue as a reconstruction.

I’m a metaphysician yet this might have been the best thing I’ve ever done

Hi. I just read a book called, Letters From A Sceptic, by Gregory Boyd, PhD. An exchange of letters between his dad and him, over a three year period. He answers his atheist dad’s questions/objections regarding Christianity. Note: I’m not in complete agreement with every point of his theology, but 96% of it. I enjoyed reading it and he shows great love and respect for his dad throughout.

Of course, before everything else, the Scriptures.
That said, for additional reading I would recommend:
    – Tactics and Relativism (or any writings by Greg Koukl really) are excellent.
    – Making Sense of God and The Reason for God (or any writings by Tim Keller) are excellent.
    – Total Truth, Finding Truth and Saving Leonardo (or any writings by Nancy Pearcey ) are excellent.
