Former President Joe Biden criticized the Trump administration over the fatal shootings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good by federal agents in Minneapolis in a post on X on Tuesday.
Biden called for investigations into the deaths of Pretti and Good, and said he and former first lady Jill Biden are “sending strength” to their families and communities.
He also called on Americans to “stand up and speak out” against the administration

Two people—Alex Pretti and Renee Good—lost their lives during a federal operation, and that alone demands transparency. Wanting answers is not a political attack; it’s a basic expectation in a free society. Oversight is part of how our system works, no matter who occupies the White House. If we only call for investigations when the administration we dislike is in power, then we’re not pursuing justice—we’re just protecting our political tribe.

Christians especially should understand this. Scripture shows that God’s people pray and seek truth. The Church weakens its witness when it treats any political leader as beyond criticism. If the situation were reversed, many of the same voices dismissing concerns today would be demanding accountability. Consistency matters. Our allegiance is to Christ and to justice, not to any administration.

The real tragedy is how quickly events like this become partisan talking points. Instead of focusing on the lives lost, people rush to defend or attack political figures. That’s backwards. The facts should lead the conversation, not party loyalty. The families of Alex Pretti and Renee Good deserve clarity, not spin. Calling for a full, transparent investigation isn’t divisive—it’s the least we owe them.
