Why does MacArthur teach you can be saved with the MARK of the BEAST?

MacArthur teaches that Christians can take the mark of the beast during the Great Tribulation because he reads the BIBLE and sees clearly that ALL will take the MARK of the BEAST! There will be NO refusal!

So called Christians and so-called believers during the Tribulation – ALL will take the MARK of the BEAST! No one can escape the MARK of the BEAST! The BIBLE is EXPLICIT:

Bible Question:

On a Youtube video it appears that John MacArthur teaches that Christians can take the mark of the beast during the Great Tribulation and still have entry to heaven. His teaching seems to differ from Scripture. Have I correctly understood what he said?

Bible Answer:

We have received a number of questions about a Youtube video in which some believe John MacArthur teaches that Christians can take the mark of the beast during the tribulation and still be permitted entry to heaven. Consequently, some accuse Dr. MacArthur of being a false teacher. This article responds to those concerns and to what John MacArthur stated.

“Antichrist’s empire will maintain strict economic control over the world. Food, clothing, medical supplies, and the other necessities of life potentially in demand in the devastated earth, which has felt the judgment of God (6:5-6), will be unobtainable for those without the mark. Currency will probably vanish, to be replaced by controlled credit. Instead of a credit card, which can be lost, people will have a mark (possibly a bar code) in their forehead or hand. Scanning people’s foreheads or hands would identify them to a central computer system.”

(p.63; bold original)

MacArthur’s comments above serve as an example of futuristic speculation. He does not present evidence showing that any of this will, in fact, happen. He does not present data that can be independently assessed in this regard. To be fair, he cannot do any of this because such evidence is, quite frankly, hard to come by. The things about which MacArthur speaks have (in his mind) yet to happen, after all.

Troy Day if you don’t believe in the Rapture or Pretrib Rapture I could see this misconception taking route in the mind.
The bible clearly Teaches that after the Rapture of the Church that through all the wowes no more ppl repent. And God causes all Great and small to recieve the mark and worship the beast.

Junior Beasley you just referred to the false prophet second beast from Rev 13 as being God. You might want to edit that comment.

Junior Beasley 2 Thessalonians 2:11 says that God will send a strong delusion. You originally said that God will cause all break and small to receive a mark and worship the beast.
These things may be related but are still completely different.

Revelation 13:11-16 (ESV) 11 Then I saw another beast rising out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb and it spoke like a dragon. 12 It exercises all the authority of the first beast in its presence, and makes the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose mortal wound was healed. 13 It performs great signs, even making fire come down from heaven to earth in front of people, 14 and by the signs that it is allowed to work in the presence of the beast it deceives those who dwell on earth, telling them to make an image for the beast that was wounded by the sword and yet lived. 15 And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain. 16 Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead,

Brett Dobbs your biggest problem.is you don’t understand revelations is a book of prophecy, not historical timline prophetic timeline.
Which mean some happened at the time of the writing some before and some after some in our present time here and some in our future. Your job is to search scripture and found out what has passed what is passing and what is yet still to pass. When you 1st understand the book then you understand all things.

not sure you know what you talking about Junior Beasley BUT I invented revelations as the book of prophecy and not historical timeline prophetic timeline 🙂 Philip Williams however NOT SO much …

Junior Beasley I’m not arguing the timeline of things.

My point is that God doesn’t cause anyone to take the mark of the beast. God causes a sends a strong delusion. The 2nd beast is who causes all to take the mark.

God isn’t mentioned in this passage. God doesn’t force the mark of the beast. The 2nd beast false prophet. Satan gives him his power.
God allows this to happen, and by permitting it to happen, God is sending the strong delusion. But the text itself doesn’t say God causes all to take the mark.

Troy Day did you know that people suffer when they are slandered?

Do you know what kind of witness it makes on those who are not born again when they see Christians doing this?

He believes “once saved, always saved” or taking “eternal security” and “perseverance of the saints” to the extreme, so that’s his (skewered) rationale.

Troy Day do you have a question for me?

  • Reply December 7, 2023

    Rev. Dr. Timothy Cremeens

That’s the problem with Evangelicals in general (including most denominational & independent Pentecostal/Charismatics, y’all have bought into the false teaching of Dispensationalism as taught by John Darby, & made especially popular in the Scofield Reference Bible, who was a Cessaionists.

Our God, Who is our Savior, decides who He will save, and when He’ll save them. Evangelicals love to limit God’s ability to justify & forgive people. If it’s not the MArk of the Beast, then it’s Death. Christ descended into Gehenna (the place of the departed) preached to the spirits in prison there and then led ALL to His Kingdom (Ephesians 4). If Death, or the Mark of the Beast cuts off the chance of Salvation THEN Death/Mark of the Beast are STRONGER than Jesus Christ Himself, the Lord of both the living and the departed. God’s desire to save sinners extend to the Last Great White Throne Judgment at which each and every soul will receives it’s FINAL reckoning. Only AFTER that final decision will Salvation be ACCOMPLISHED. Until THAT day Christ will forgive, save & justify whoever calls on His holy Name!!!
