I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.5(The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection.6Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.7When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison8and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth–Gog and Magog–to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore.9They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them.

I think it’s obvious that it is people that were beheaded during the tribulation for their testimony of Christ. Possibly those who got saved by the ministry of the 144,000?

yes Billy Monroe Poff I agree but Philip Williams leans toward dual covenant here and many post-Tribbers Link Hudson Brett Dobbs plainly think it is them as representatives of the NT church Duane L Burgess

They will be the beheaded, saints who come to Faith during the great tribulation. They have missed the rapture, but decided to stand for Christ, knowing that it is the genuine truth. In fact, the rapture proves to them that it is genuine. They come to faith the hard way! This is why I call the great tribulation God’s mercy — because many people would have remained in their complacency and lukewarmness if it were not for the rapture shocking them into faith. I would say this is about 80% of the church today if you go by the 80/20 Rule (Pareto Principle) . But with the supernatural nature of Christianity it may be 70/30 or 60/40 but either way it’s a large portion of the church that are merely nominal Christians. Also, among that number of “souls” are people who see the faith stand of the Christians, unwilling to bow the knee to the antichrist, which are mixed among the people of the world. They will decide to join the Christians in acepting Christ. This is true for persecution around the world throughout church history. The church always seems to grow greatest when the persecution is the greatest.

Troy Day of course the 144,000 are Jews. 12,000 from each tribe… unless of course you’re a Jehovah Witness…. They believe they are the 144,000….

Troy Day If you do not think any of the saints during the tribulation are from any other ethnic group besides Israel, then you should think that they got saved BEFORE the tribulation, and you should not be a pretribulationalist.

      Revelation 7
      9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of 👉all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues,👈 stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.
13 And one of the elders answered, say👉ing unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation👈, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

I’m not sure how many times I will have to quote that passage for you.

    Martyred Tribulation saints.
Scripture clearly identifies them as living under AntiChrist.
The Church is gone at Rev. 4:1

Duane L Burgess Martyred Tribulation saints or Jewish evangelists like the 144K? Billy Monroe Poff Philip Williams ONE thing is for sure Neil Steven Lawrence Jerome Herrick Weymouth Darnell Henson Jr. our friends Link Hudson Brett Dobbs Ricky Grimsley will have a VERY VERY hard time proving souls ARE resurrected especially explaining the 2 groups in Rev 20 Then I saw thrones, and people sat upon them—those to whom authority to judge was given.[b] And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Yeshua and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image, nor had they received his mark on their forehead or on their hand. And they came to life[c] and reigned with the Messiah for a thousand years.

John saw those who had been beheaded resurrected, but if a detail is left out of one passage, but not the others, that doesn’t mean the detail didn’t or wouldn’t happen. One gospel says Bar Timaeus was healed. Another says two blind men were healed.

We learn from I Thessalonians 4 that the dead in Christ will rise at the parousia of Christ. This is not something difficult to explain.

Inventing an additional parousia, rapture, and resurrection event when the scripture speaks of it as one event is much more difficult to explain. Could you provide some evidence for that? In the past, you seemed to indicate that you thought that John being taught to ‘come up hither’ was some kind of evidence for pre-trib… a heavily allegorical approach for an interpretation system that claims to be literal.

Troy Day 144,000 are the first fruits. The ethnic Israelites who came to faith in the beginning of the church. They together left Jerusalem before the events of 70AD.
They were watching for the warning that Jesus in Matthew 24 and Luke 21.

Revelation 20 is a prophecy describing the entire spectrum of the church age.
      Similar to Revelation 12.
