WHAT IS THE KUNDALINI SPIRIT? By Ray E Horton

It is an evil spirit that has been a part of some Eastern religions and the New Age movement. It is said to mimic the Holy Spirit.

But watch out! Do not be taken in by so-called heresy hunters who equate the true move of the Holy Spirit with Kundalini. These are cessationists who, not experiencing Holy Spirit, attribute real God manifestations to Kundalini.

The real danger is the slander of the move of the Holy Spirit in our time by these unbelieving cessationists

So, while there could be some inroads of this spirit among Christians (I haven’t seen it), I believe it is minimal, and the real danger is the slander of the move of the Holy Spirit in our time by these unbelieving cessationists who think the gifts of the spirit were limited to and ended with the first apostles.

Any believer who is sensitive to the Holy Spirit should be able to discern the difference.

Unless they contradict the Word, they are not necessarily false

There are some Holy Spirit manifestations that are real, and some that are simply emotional reaction of the immature. I am not quick to attribute the latter to an evil spirit since such cannot have their way with real believers who are sincerely desiring to experience more of God in their lives.

As for seemingly strange manifestations that are real, remember that unless they contradict the Word, they are not necessarily false. I will not give credit to the devil. Cessationists, in fear, are desperate to stop all that is supernatural that God is doing in this day. I look to the fruit.

For instance, I experience the laughing phenomenon in the mid 80’s. I am quite conservative and told the Lord I don’t want to be a part of anything unless it is of you. A minute later, I was down on the floor laughing my head off. After this service, there were testimonies of great healings, people coming back to and committing fully to the Lord, new boldness in Him, etc. These were lasting testimonies of permanent changes.

So, be careful not to write off any unusual manifestations as not of the Holy Spirit. While God will never contradict His Word, He can otherwise do as He wills.

This is important because “the real danger is the slander of the move of the Holy Spirit in our time by these unbelieving cessationists.”

Good call. People fear and despise things that are unusual and may easily blaspheme the Homy Spirit out of their ignorance.
