How is “one god eternally existing in three persons” not actually three gods. Obviously we will all say we believe in One God but what are the “nuts and bolts of it. Please as opposed 89 proofs of the trinity how about one at a time.

Lol

This isnt about whether or not there are three. Its about three “what”.

God is not a name but a title like ceo or president. The Father, The Son and Holy Spirit are all God but have different functions.

Ricky Grimsley [01/26/2016 3:08 PM]
My body, soul and spirit have different functions. Am i three persons?

My family is Oneness and I am trinitarian. Things that don’t make sense to me: who was Jesus praying to in the garden of Gethsemane, when he said “Father let this cup pass from me”?…if he was God, the father, why need to pray? Also…why did God, the Father, turn his face when Jesus was on the cross? And…God cannot be tempted, yet Jesus was. Old testament—who was God, the father talking to when he said, “let US make man, in OUR image (half spirit image, half flesh image)”? I could go on and on…

My brothers, dont forget God is spirit. The holy spirit is a spirit. And jesus is man flesh , soul holy spirit

Mark Gonzales [01/26/2016 3:45 PM]
How can you call God who is a spirit a person

William Lance Huget [01/26/2016 3:49 PM]
God is personal. Angels and God (Jn. 4:24) are spirit persons, but man also has a physical body and is personal/person. Divine persons are not identical to finite persons.

Mark Gonzales [01/26/2016 3:49 PM]
Remember the spirit if God hovering over the water.

Mark Gonzales [01/26/2016 3:51 PM]
Go by verse. All i see is God is spirit and the that worship him must worship him in spirit and truth

Ricky Grimsley [01/26/2016 4:18 PM]
What im saying is that jesus is the express image of the person of god. As in there is one person and one god and jesus is the image of that God. Hebrews 1:3 KJVS [3] Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; All the fulness of god in jesus bodily? One body one spirit?

William Lance Huget [01/26/2016 4:59 PM]
The Holy Spirit is personal, but His actions can be described in impersonal ways like power.

William Lance Huget [01/26/2016 5:02 PM]
Ricky Grimsley It is a straw man caricature to say that the trinity is 3 gods. LDS/Mormonism is tritheism, 3++++gods/beings (Jesus is Jehovah; Father is Elohim, etc.). Christianity is compound unity, triune, not tritheism. There is only ONE spirit nature/substance/essence/being of God, not 3. God is 3 in one sense (personal distinctions who are each the one YHWH) and one in a different sense. Your confusion is that you think they are 3 in the same sense and fail to distinguish nature from personal distinction. Theology books, creeds, councils, etc. have always clarified this confusion which is still perpetuated by anti-trinitarian groups.
