One of the “covenant rights” or “throne rights” of being born again by Jesus Christ is “The Authority of the Believer.” This is not a word of faith teaching (although they do teach it), but has been taught throughout church history based on John 1:12; Luke 10:19, Ephesians 2:6, among other Scriptures. The Puritan and Higher Life Movements reemphasized it–especially A.B. Simpson, founder of the Christian and Missionary Alliance, and the author of the original classic book “The Authority of the Believer” in 1932 by spiritual warfare pioneer John MacMillan, Canadian Alliance missionary to China and the Philippines.
