According to Scripture water baptism is a step of obedience following one’s profession of faith in Christ. It is symbolic, a remembrance, a testimony.
There is no “power” in baptism.
The only power in Baptism is the regeneration and indwelling of the Holy Spirit at the moment of salvation.
Water baptism is only a symbol.
We are saved by grace through God’s gift of saving faith.
In Mark 11:23, Jesus tells his disicples, “I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.”
