Evangelicals helped elect President Trump. That’s certainly not why President Trump was elected. President Trump received solid Evangelical support but then so did Romney. The real story is that blacks supported Trump by wider margins than they supported Romney and 15% of black Obama voters stayed home. This was all based on Secretary Clinton saying, “the status quo is just fine for black Americans.” But Trump’s support from black voters is rising and will continue to rise after criminal justice reform is passed.
Evangelicals will pour out in larger numbers for President Trump in 2020 than they did in 2016 because there is no longer a question of what the President will deliver. Will there be as many Evangelicals voting in 25 years? Maybe not. But President Trump is bringing black & Latino voters into the party and they will more than make up for the shrinking Evangelical base.

I see a day when religious conservatives both Christians and Muslims will be small religious minority in America . the rest of the country like the world is becoming Neo secular spiritualist . what is happening right now across the world ,the monotheism of the last 2000 years is on the verge of collapse / transformation. Churches need to teach young people better to ‘internalize’ Biblical teachings on divorce and remarriage, same-sex behavior, drunkenness and other issues. The seeker-sensitive style is not enough, and by the time young people are grown up, they need to have studied through the whole Bible. It’s not a shock to go to college and learn to hear that God told Israel to kill the Canaanites if you’ve read it growing up and considered the issue in a church setting.
Adults also need to hear and learn to the word and obey it when it comes to divorce and remarriage, sexual behavior, drunkenness and other issues.
I suspect there are many young people raised in church who leave high school and go to college who haven’t learn to judge the worlds moral standards in light of the BIble, and instead judge the Bible in light of the world’s moral standards. Education in the word of God alone isn’t going to make young people born again, but faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. And knowing God’s word can help prevent confusion.
Many evangelicals held their nose and voted for Trump. The choice was between one candidate who was supported of womb-dwelling baby murder who would likely have appointed judges that would have continued to hammer away at the fabric of society based on a dismal worldview, or another candidate who– in spite of personality and person life issues–opposed murdering babies who would likely appoint better judges. Evangelicals tended to support the latter. It had also been prophesied that Trump would be president since long before he ran, and there were prophecies that he would be president. So many of the supported him.
