PUNCH THE DEVIL IN THE FACE
BY DOING SOMETHING GOOD – Ray E Horton

God says vengeance is mine, but if you really want to do something, punch the devil in the face by doing something good. The Holy Spirit is so good when He pops something into your mind to help someone. I was ministering to a brother in a coffee shop to build him up in the Lord. I share this, because it will help some others as well.

He has recently returned to the Lord but has a lot of struggles and circumstances to deal with. I listened to him for a while. Then, as I ministered the Lord’s love and Word, he came out of a depressed state.

Look beyond

Doing good isn’t to impress God, but helps you, and keeps the devil off guard

I talked to him about faith and love both being choices we make, even when we feel anger and doubt. I talked to him about letting go, by faith, of anger and resentment about things he has no control over and trusting the Lord’s love and faithfulness; and about looking beyond present circumstances to what the Lord wants to do for him and in him.

Then, it just popped into my mind via the Holy Spirit. I told him, God says vengeance is mine, but if he wanted to do something, he could punch the devil in the face by doing something good. The devil hates that. Say something nice to your wife, encourage a friend.

Doing good isn’t to impress God, but helps you, and keeps the devil off guard.
