Position Yourself the Stand Still and Watch God Move – Ray E Horton

You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you” (2 Chron. 20:17).

We can’t win the battles on our own. Too many battles in life are far beyond our ability to deal with. But we don’t sit back, we “position ourselves,” standing still in His presence. It is then that when we “go out against” our obstacles, without fear but with trust, that He goes before us to fight our battles.

It’s all about trusting God and standing in His presence. The praise and worship was so rich and God’s glory so heavy at Lake Erie Church this morning. The congregation wouldn’t let the worship time conclude, and the transition to Pastor Bryan sharing was so organic and overlapping, you knew Holy Spirit was at work.

It’s His glory that changes us

A lifestyle of praise and thanksgiving keeps us in position to experiencing God’s glory in our lives

The message theme was the Presence of God, but Holy Spirit actually preached the message in action before Bryan ever spoke. He spoke of a lifestyle of praise and thanksgiving keeping us in position to experiencing His glory in our lives. And it is His glory that changes us and heals us.

There is every provision in His glory. Israel spent 40 years in the wilderness, following the cloud by day and the fire by night of His glory. Their shoes and clothing never wore out and they had their daily food. As the three disciples saw Jesus transfigured on the mountain, they received in the glory a deeper revelation of who Jesus is, Father God’s beloved divine Son.

The Greek Word translated “presence,” “prosopon,” means countenance, or face to face. As we meet with our God in prayer, aware of His presence, we are seeing Him face to face spiritually and we are changed. It is these changes in the hearts of individual believers that is bringing revival in us and a corporate awakening to change the world around us and bring in the harvest.
