There’s a doctrine going around at the moment that says “no analogy can prove the trinity, and no one could ever understand the trinity”. I just want to say clearly and directly that this is false and a heresy, God want to know you and he wants you to know him fully, not in part and not amiss, but fully and deeply. This doctrine that says you can’t fully understand the trinity is not even christian, why? Because to say that you cannot understand the Godhead is to say that you cannot understand God and therefore it is not faith filled relationship Christianity, but agnostic heresy! God uses all creation and analogies to explain to us exactly who he is, see scripture below.

Romans 1:20 “For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being UNDERSTOOD by THINGS THAT ARE MADE, even his eternal power and GODHEAD; so that they are without excuse.

There’s no trinity. Jesus is God the father, God the son, God the Holy Spirit, God with us. All we need to know is the fullness of the Godhead dwells bodily in Christ Jesus. Why do people think God has multiple personality disorder? I don’t talk to someone’s spirit one day, their flesh the next. I speak to the WHOLE person. Praying to Jesus is praying to the WHOLE God. A one legged tripod is worthless, do not divide God up take him as he is, WHOLE in Christ just like the rest if us.

Brian Roden [10/08/2015 9:36 AM]
Not only is a three-legged tripod worthless, it’s non-existent. There is such a thing as a monopod, however, and it is very useful in photography to steady a camera when there’s not a lot of space to set up, or when you have to move around a lot (look at the sideline sports photographers with the huge lenses at an NFL game).

Which just proves the point that all analogies break down at some point.

Brian Roden “man was made in the image and likeness of God” you can use that as an analogy to describe the Trinity. If that’s not good enough then I can’t help you.

John Kissinger [10/20/2015 6:25 PM]
not much of a doctrine if you ask me

Charles Page [10/20/2015 10:30 PM]
God has explained himself adequately in scripture! Don’t need anymore analogies.

David there’s no such doctrine. #justAsaying

It is insanity to demand that Jesus must be His own Father.
He proceeds from the Father, and does His Father’s will.
Christ said he never spoke His own word, nor did things by His own power, but instead via obedience to His Father.

In fact, in the Garden of Gethsemane, Christ prayed, “Not my will, but thine be done.”
    Now, there are two wills!
You’ve got the will of the human Christ, and you’ve got the will of the Father, at odds with each other. There’s two people involved here.

“He learned obedience by the things which He suffered.”
Obedience isn’t necessary, if there’s only one person. Obedience can only happen when there are two people involved.

Jesus said He had to go away, before ANOTHER comforter could come, who would be LIKE Himself.
You aren’t like yourself. Even if you have a mental disorder, and think you are two people, that doesn’t make you two people. You still ARE yourself.
If the Holy Spirit is LIKE Jesus, He ISN”T Jesus.

The Trinity is a concept not hard to grasp, if we approach the words of Scripture through faith.

There are most definitely three will in unity, but is there three of anything else. Is there three bodies? Is there three spirits? We can all see three, but three what? I have three wills, but one, soul, one body, one spirit. Surely we can all say that our flesh can will one thing and and our spirit another and our mind decides? Jesus is called the everlasting father, but mary was found with child of the holy ghost (father?) and then of course there is THE FATHER. The traditional view of the trinity leaves unanswered questions and oneness has many holes. Personally i think the “trinity” is more like man than three Gods we say are different but say are one also.

Jesus “learned obedience” means that for the first time the God who created man knew what it was like to have to choose despite temptation. Previously he (as God) he was unable to be tempted
