“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”
– Genesis 8:22
You never now what to expect. And I hesitate sharing some things. It just seems vain. But really it’s more about joy and grace and trying to obey Jesus. Putting in a little work for Jesus. I been shot at before preaching the gospel.
One time i was in front of a liquor store. I was preaching pretty loud. In the pouring rain. Just me and Jesus. Seemed like the right thing to do at the time. Sometimes street preaching is breaking things down in the spirit. A young man came out and started shooting. What could I do? I couldn’t stop then. He ran off. It didn’t occur to me to call the cops.
Sometimes these gangs will take over a store. A gambling debt or the shop keeper gets hooked on drugs. The store shut down right after that. Layed fallow for years. It’s a dental care place or something now.
You get to know the shop keepers. Sometimes they get mad about preaching on the corner. One of them has a new store on the other side of town now. I keep telling him I’m coming to his new store soon. And we laugh about it. I can’t stop anybody from buying beer and cigarettes. I just think every one should hear the name of Jesus with rejoicing and faith and victory over sin. Jesus is that good.
