“And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.”
– Matthew 8:20

Is heaven a reasonable offer for salvation? I don’t think I have ever mentioned heaven in the presentation of the gospel on the streets. The gospel doesn’t change. Men have different needs some are rebellious and stubborn. Some have honest questions while other have been run over by the world and broken in every way.
Jesus Christ meets men where they are at. Where they live and think and hurt and struggle. God himself was the first tailor in the garden of Eden. He covered them. He gave them a promise. That promise was redemption in Jesus Christ.
For me, from what I see in scripture, the gospel is reconciliation to God. Turning from sin asking for forgiveness and trusting in Jesus Christ the Saviour. The gospel is men and conviction and righteousness and blood and sorrow and tears and hope and faith and peace with God through the cross. Jesus cross. The cross of the spotless Lamb of God.
Knowing you are right with God. And yielded to God. Having peace with God and keeping peace with your brother. And walking in the great love of God. Will surely make the day we leave this life and see Jesus a very happy day.
Maybe more happy than when we first met Jesus and when he first took away our sins. But as far as I’m concerned heaven is being with Jesus. In this life and the next. Where he is that’s where I want to go. I want to go and be with Jesus one day.
Jesus is a wonderful Saviour! A very present help in a time of trouble.

Roger David lets call everyone back from their 4th of July vacation and into discussing this great NEW series post that is calling our attention to the fine art of street preaching; once so popular and effective in America – today forgotten and in a need of recovering and restoration Joe Absher Jesse Morrell

There is a resurgence of street preaching and I think it is due in a good part to the efforts of my friend Jesse Morrell.

I find that same resurgence in America quite political. Jesus was not a political street preacher Joe Absher

We had a discussion two years ago? on nationalism in the gospel. It didn’t turn out well.

Luke 14:33 KJV — So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

      I think was the premise.

Here’s a classic misreprention of street preachers by the far left. At the 10 minute mark they’re calling the preachers Nazi. Worse than ISIS etc.
