Well lets go down to walmart, get some spray paint, permanent markers, and some hammers and bring them back to the church and spray paint graffiti all over the walls, draw some pictures, and knock holes in the wall, and set back and call it wonderful……know you not that you are the temple of the living God……

Byron Benefield [05/14/2015 2:14 PM]
I bet none of you smoke or do anything to damage the “temple” right? How about those buffets huh? You worry about the outward appearance while God looks on the heart. This is a matter of a good conscience towards God not a letter of law. Christ nor apostles address this issue so it is a matter of motive in the heart. Is it for attention or witness? Self or what? Some folks go to the gym to build their body because they want to look good outwardly not just to be healthy but its not my place to judge their motives. That’s the job of the Holy Spirit.

Junior Beasley but weren’t the walls of the temple covered with drawings and carvings? On the walls all around the temple, in both the inner and outer rooms, he carved cherubim, palm trees and open flowers (1 Kings 6:29) Rick Wadholm Jr

Why does anyone put a bumper sticker on a BMW?…I am not sure about the biblical thing…but I do know they mess up a perfectly good body. I love my skin too much…besides , I am an organ donor. You can’t do that if you have tats

Pentecostal Theology [05/14/2015 2:26 PM]
Ron Hamm for the same reasons one drinks coffee, eats cholesterol and high fructose, does not exercise, etc. Yet the cross marking David Maris mentioned are more than just a BMW bumper sticker…

Pentecostal Theology, yes he did, and God Gave me colored hair and eyes and birthmarks and distinct features such as finger prints, but he didnt put holes in the temple wall and cover it wit graffiti and call it good.

Byron Benefield [05/14/2015 2:32 PM]
But the temple had plenty of “art” that was symbolic. It had meaning and value. I know many people whose tats are for witness.

Matthew 23:24 KJV Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.

To get a tattoo takes away from the glorious works of God. Notice there is no tattoo in the mentioning of these scriptures.

Psa 139:13 You are the one who put me together inside my mother’s body, Psa 139:14 and I praise you because of the wonderful way you created me. Everything you do is marvelous! Of this I have no doubt.

Psa 139:13 You alone created my inner being. You knitted me together inside my mother. Psa 139:14 I will give thanks to you because I have been so amazingly and miraculously made. Your works are miraculous, and my soul is fully aware of this. Psa 139:15 My bones were not hidden from you when I was being made in secret, when I was being skillfully woven in an underground workshop.

All things are lawful, saith Paul, but not all things are practicable.

I am not usually in favor of tattoos. Many of the Tattoos on our servicemen have blurred with time and are now a mess. I can personally attest to that At the same time many of the Coptic Christians have the tattoos of a cross on their wrist as a sign of their devotion to Christ. John Conger may attest to that if he’s done a tour or two #PaidVacationInAForeignLand

no service from me. high respect for those who did. on the issue of tats i don’t have a problem with them. if they were to keep us from ministry then we should abstain but most people see that is not a big deal.

It’s not a “big deal” because most of the western Church is in bed and fornicating with the secular pop culture that is riven through with demonic activity. But thanks to the one who posted about Coptic Christians – I didn’t know this, but I have to respect that custom among them.

Troy Day – you taught me something today!

      Meaning?

meaning you just condemned people for something that God didn’t condemn. why would having a tattoo make you someone who is fornicating with the world? other than your own personal revelation from God of course. ….

Does anyone feel that the reference of not marking your body was in relation to the “for the dead” as was the the cutting of your your flesh? As in we arent supposed to mark ourselves for the dead in some kind of ritual?
