Is America Under A Strong Delusion? Why We Must Choose Cruz and Dump Trump? Or do we? David Lewayne Porter David M. Hinsen

David M. Hinsen [02/20/2016 9:08 AM]
No contributing author? One thing is for sure, this race for the nomination has certainly been interesting and full of emotion. And Hillary could have at least said, “There are top government secrets that I just can’t talk about.” Not covering for her, but she really hurt herself on that one.

David Lewayne Porter [02/20/2016 2:08 PM]
I believe Cruz – president, Carson vice-president for 8 years. Then Carson president for 8 more.

Yes!

John Kissinger [02/20/2016 2:43 PM]
David Lewayne Porter what are you basing your suggestions on? Cruz is loosing like crazy his constituency. The Carolinas will vote Trump

Jeffrey Madison [02/20/2016 3:47 PM]
Concerning the main article: Totally disagree! This article is a bunch of nonsense that was written to create fear, and manipulate Christian’s into voting for Cruz. I don’t know what is worse, the writers incorrect view of American history, or his blatant disregard for the cultural context of Scripture. Overall, it appears as if his incorrect view of American history has caused him to create a theology that propagates his false view. Not only is the United States not a Christian nation; (the founding documents of the United States were written by men who had rejected Christianity; Madison and Jefferson were deists; Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence, and Madison wrote the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights’, each of these documents were based on the works of enlightenment philosophers like that of John Locke, William Penn, Rene Descarte, and ancient philosophers like that of Socrates, and Plato). Furthermore, the United States’ Constitution forbids the government from declaring a State religion (this was the brain child of William Penn and John Locke). The reason why this was done, was to prevent religious institutions from being controlled by the government, this was also put in place to keep religious institutions from controlling the people; (every one of our Amendments has a historical context behind them; this prevision was created to contrast England’s State ran Church, it was also put in place to prevent religious groups like that of the separatist Congregationalists, i.e. the Mayflower Pilgrims, from creating havoc within the Government; the Pilgrims were a subgroup of the Puritans, who caused the English Civil War). In other words, Madison and the other Founders made sure that the United States would not be a Theocracy (a government bound to obey religious law). Due to this, Wood’s thesis is based on a false presupposition; which is, that America, like Biblical Israel, is a Theocracy that is dependent on God’s blessing. If Wood desires to call out a “Christian nation” for its sin, he should call out Great Britain. As for America, the only way it is going to be Christian, is by majority. The only way that that is going to happen is through the casting off of Wood’s kind of Christianity (that is, a Christianity that is based on the superstitions created by dispensational-premillennialism), and taking up the mandate that Christ called us to. Which is, to love our neighbors (Forrest Gump knows what love is. Do you? 1 Corinthians 13).

David Lewayne Porter [02/20/2016 4:20 PM]
A simple look at the charters and constitutions of the first colonies and states does speak for itself.

I love the fact the God’s judgement is always considered future, and His judgement is always abated by His love. Yet Revelation16:1 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth. He is filling His wrath now, and He will not withhold all until the tribulation gets started, He just will not release it all until then.

John Kissinger [02/20/2016 5:38 PM]

There has been a lot of talk the last couple of days about what it means to be Christian. Simply put, a Christian is a…

David Lewayne Porter David M. Hinsen I know no one likes an I-told-you-so but… http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2016/02/20/donald-trump-wins-republican-south-carolina-primary/

David M. Hinsen [02/20/2016 8:19 PM]
I never doubted he’d win

John Kissinger [02/20/2016 8:20 PM]
too bad Hillary would beat him so bad in NOV Jon Sellers

David Lewayne Porter [02/20/2016 8:58 PM]
I did not say my choice will win. I am saying he is the best one for the nation. God will give people what they think they want to show them that He knows best.

As far as “I told you so”, I know America does not want anything that is Godly and will choose the ones farthest from His desired choice and intent. By the way my brother “when America realizes trump is a big mistake” I will say I told you so in all caps. Count on it!

David Lewayne Porter Cruz won’t be an option. It will be trump and Hillary. Which devil will you choose?

Jeffrey Madison [02/21/2016 9:00 PM]
David, I don’t think you have a firm understanding of what God’s wrath is. God’s wrath is judgment (or correction), this correction causes power structure to change. Most people who do not understand God’s sovereign, or his goodness, will attribute wrath with destruction, rather then new creation. Regardless, Christians have a job to do, calling our nation’s leaders “workers of Satan” will only muddy God’s message of reconciliation.

David Lewayne Porter [02/21/2016 9:48 PM]
Jeffery, I called him a devil, not a worker of satan. Did not Jesus tell the pharisees they were of their father the devil?

My brother, If you want to talk about reconciliation, 1) trump has no need to reconcile, or ask God for forgiveness because he does not make the mistakes others make, and when he does he goes and corrects them himself – a quote from him, his words. 2) following my Jesus’ words Matt 23, Just about every third verse He calls them whiten sepulchers, full of dead men’s bones, vipers, blind guides, hypocrites,

I will wait for you to get back to me on that one.

So regardless of your point

trump Is more than just wrong or bad for this nation. He is worse than that. Clinton is just terrible. But trump is at best a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

And brother, I have a very good grasp and firm understanding of God’s wrath. And it is not judgment, it is “justice” in repayment for our actions – “vengeance” is mine saith the lord, I shall repay – – “not revenge”. God’s wrath can be and is personal, hereditary – along family lines, nationally, physical, mental, spiritual, national, corporate, according to His purposes at that time.

Ricky Grimsley [02/21/2016 10:10 PM]
I dont know that I would say “strong delusion” but perhaps the opposite is happening of the conditions of Jesus’s day. Romans 11:25 KJVS [25] For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. Perhaps now blindness is coming to the gentiles that israel can be saved?

David Lewayne Porter [02/22/2016 9:11 AM]
Those pushing for trump because he is “electable” is like the crowd yelling for Barabbas instead of Jesus. The crowd does not normally follow right.

Just my continued thoughts. Brothers.

David Lewayne Porter [02/22/2016 9:15 AM]
Jeffrey Madison Glenn Beck today is doing a great job of disclosing a lot of trump’s truthful lies.

Just thought you should know. Since you seek truth.

Jeffrey Madison [02/22/2016 9:28 AM]
If you think that Glenn Beck (a Mormon) is someone that you can trust…. Beck’s only agenda is the Mormon agenda. This was not only demonstrated by his support for Romney over Gingrich (in 2008), but in his push for Mormon theology (e.g. his false prophecy concerning the collapse of the world systems, thus pushing the Mormon theology of hoarding goods in preparation for the end times). Beck’s a loon dude!

Ricky Grimsley [02/22/2016 9:34 AM]
The christianity of everyone you guys have mentioned is suspect in my opinion. The whole system is a scam.

David Lewayne Porter [02/22/2016 9:41 AM]
I know he is a Mormon. Thank you for pointing out the obvious. Wow!

He is still a source with documentation on the original sources that can be used to consolidate truth, and save me time.

I don’t back Beck as a person or his “religious” views, I never said I do and if you take it any other way or say otherwise God judge and deal with it.

But I do CHECK HIS SOURCES. And go search them myself.

Isn’t that what you are agruing with trump? That he does not have to be prefect, just better than the other party? Now who is circular in thinking dude?

David Lewayne Porter [02/22/2016 9:48 AM]
Ricky Grimsley And I agree with their christianity being suspect Finally we can agree on something!!!! There is a God!!! Thus why you people jumped Me to start with.. … I am not backing any democrat, I will not back trump. And if this keeps up, I will back no one.

Ricky Grimsley [02/22/2016 9:59 AM]
As Christians we are ambassadors for Christ and God sets up kings anyway. Personally i have found out way more in my research than most people would ever believe, so i am withdrawing with most of my political views and focusing more attention to studying the bible and preaching the gospel. I certainly understand the propensity to want to pick a Godly ruler or even pick the lesser of two evils. However, i doubt seriously that we have had a actual christian president in any of our lifetimes.

Thanks for bringing a little common sense to this discussion.

John Kissinger [02/22/2016 7:59 PM]
David Lewayne Porter SC just gave Trump the GOP nomination. Next they will give it to Hillary. The Panthers may not have win the Super Bowl but the Carolinas seem to be determining this election’s outcome

    I sure did,
    And I still do,
    but did I “prophesy” Troy?
No, I stated my wishes and desires.
What, you part of the secular media now turning into the thought police?

      I don’t have “followers”.
I meet with saints and sinners that are interested in following Jesus as we grow together in those relationships daily.

I am the pastor of that church, and don’t believe everything you read on social media
      ?
The Church of God state office and international office, as well as the faithful attendees and supporters are the only ones needing the complete story.
Social media does not need to know everything that goes on.

Maybe you need to go read the posts from yesterday where I stated that I made the congregation aware of where the candidates stood on the issues (both candidates – on the major issues).
The document that I had posted in the Church’s receiption area also included the state and local offices up for election with those candidates personal stances, opinions, and views.
I asked them to read, study, and pray as to what Jesus would expect. I then asked them to vote accordingly.

So (if you feel that your review is needed), please feel free.
