For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without were fightings, within were fears.
– 2 Corinthians 7:5

Paul knew pressure and adversity in his ministry. False brethren, false teachers, false accusations. lying spirits and familiar spirits. He fought many demons. the Lord Jesus called this man and convicted this man and changed this man. He redeemed this man and set him on fire with a mission to the world .
It is beautiful to see how God works in men like Paul and Jeremiah he works in them first and through them second. The Lord gave them grace and comfort and strength to overcome and endure.
We dont usually think of Pauls love for sinners. But its all there in the scripture. The love, the patience, pleading with men to come to Christ and to walk worthy of Christ.
Paul knew hardship and prison, beating and stoning. And he pressed on. Pauls life shows the real root of ministry is that first love for Jesus Christ and love for our fellow man. his obedience to that heavenly vision came from a change of heart and a true vision of Jesus the suffering Messiah, and the King of glory raised in power. he met the Saviour and he was changed forever.
this old world hasnt changed. And neither has God. God still calls men. God still gives men to cities and nations. We still need men like Paul. Men that have their strength in Christ. Men of vision. Men of courage. Men of faith . God fearing men. Men that persevere. We dont need real men we need men that are real. Men that are ready.
