It’s great to remember this who fought to keep us safe. Especially. Those that gave their life. I’m so sorry. And they deserve the very best honor we could give. Pray for peace. And pray for the families that lost a a family member.

Thank God for those who have served our country in the Arm Forces.
I had a Grandpa who served our country in WW1
    2 Uncles in WW2
    1 Uncle in Korea
1 Son in the Marines in various areas.
I have many friends who have served.
    Thank God for all.

Great honor for your family to be so willing and brave. We really need to keep them in our prayers. Along with all the others that are sacrificing their life also. And our Country. And the Bible says to pray for the peace of Israel. And we need to pray for all nations.

I do thank you very much for your service. I didn’t take time to notice what the word recruiter meant. When you said someone dropped me off. I really didn’t give thought to the word and what it meant. You hear people say I was dropped on my head. A fun thing.so when you said someone dropped me off. The Word didn’t come to my mind what it meant. I thought you was kidding. You know how people doesn’t let things really come to the real meaning. Well I guess I must hav been dropped off somewhere. Because I just see half of a thing sometimes. That’s why I said I was kidding. I didn’t give it a thought of what the word meant until I read it this morning, after I read your comment. Then I realized you was serious. Sorry. Because I appreciate your work or any kind labor. Especially for the Lord.

Yes ma’am it’s funny. It’s the best decision my dad ever made.lol.
I have been “dropped off” quite a bit. Anyways. We can remember the sacrifice and service of so many truly brave men and woman. It’s not all mourning. There’s some joy too. It’s hard to understand the cruelty of war and the necessity of it. But those questions are for bigger men than me.

There was a guy there took the photos at one of the concentration camps. He was on the 3rd Army WWII. Should have written his name down. He spoke. He said Ike came himself and said “nobody is going to believe this.” Patton came himself old blood and guts and he had to go out back and puke. Hundreds of naked bodies stacked up. Said it’s real it’s not a hoax. He was there. Eyewitness.
The Vietnam Veterans were well represented. They do alot at the VA. Big Christmas party for the patients. AA Groups etc. These were the last draftee’s.
Then they honored the young woman. Excuse me lady soldier national guard first female killed in combat I think. Iraq 2004. Michelle Marie Witmer. Her dad was there.
Usually we have a hundred veterans in wheelchairs today maybe two or three. Must be downtown. I didn’t see any amputees this year.
They released the dull black balloons for the POW’s. That’s when I should have started the video. Then out of nowhere the shots.
Everything was very respectful. No overt politics. No groans this year.
A good day to remember. Sobering. A guy I know was talking about honor. Had his daughter with him. Come to think if it’s the most children I’ve ever seen. A childrens choir sang America the beautiful. That’s how it started.
They retired the colors too. So pleasant to hear the children sing. Kinda makes sense somehow.

It makes a lot of sense. I’ve heard how Hitler hung Jews on poles and burn them at night, for a light. I haven’t read this in history. But in studying my Sunday Schools lessons. When they were talking about how Jews were treated when Hitler was around. That was so sad what you saw. But thank the Lord it sounds as if it turned out beautiful.

I have heard how they were treated. I didn’t know it was this bad. But I never cease to be amazed how things go even now. Some of it doesn’t get to the news , and we don’t hear a lot that goes on. That does seem strange. This much further down the road.

    If you’re hurting today
Jesus heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds. He gives grace for pain. “..beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning…” Jesus will stand by you.
