The Greek word euanggelidzo is used 135x, while the word for pastoring is used only 15x (and only 4x does it apply to shepherding a church). Yet this word is most always translated as "preach" or "proclaim." Does this give the false impression that preaching from a pulpit was more important than Early Church ministers "out on the streets" where the sinners were? Should this Greek word give a better meaning if it were translated as "evangelizing" in English?
See Acts 5:42, 8:36, Romans 1:15-16, Galatians 1:8, et al. for usage of this word that could be translated differently than "preach."
