Hard to find a Church of God using the red back. Just read the worship songs off the screen now.

  • We sing out of the red book every service. Oh, sometime the Hymn of the Spirit. Red Book the best.

It’s already been done in most congregations in most denominations. How? The Church Councils everywhere.

Do overhead and hymnal. Gradually stop using the hymnal. Gradually reduce the use of the choir.

Keep the choir and also have a praise team. Rotate who sings first in the services.

It’s isn’t the songs , most of the time that splits Churches. It’s lukewarmness. I love Hymnals. And praise songs and I don’t know what they call ’tis last style. I like them to. We have the Glory come down through them all that gives God Glory.

I like the verse. Where there is no vision. The people perish. I think it would be so great if we get a hold of the vision again. I know methods changes. But God Never Changes.

last week we were in my hometown church and the service was opened with a song from the Red Back hymnal and I reached for the hymnal in the pew rack and had not heard the number. It was a familiar so I was searching the index. My wife elbowed me and said it was on the screen.

I looked around and several older people were singing from the hymnal.

Praise the LORD brother. I thought it fit your “Red Back” post well. Have a blessed day in HIM.

WHY WOULD YOU EVEN THINK OF IT? THIS IS PART OF THE CHURCH.

Totally agree with having your own sword, but we have been commissioned by Christ to reach the lost. If they come to church why do we expect them to have their own Bible? Does the military require soldiers to have their own M16? I think Bibles should be the only thing we are worried about in the backs of our pews or chairs whatever the furniture may be. The truth is the music or style is not A Issue, just as long as the words sung Glorify God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. David even said to sing unto the Lord a new song, meaning not always will everyone know or even sing the song you sing because it’s a song of your worship in your situation that no one else is in. Also Many of the early churches were mills, barns, homes, and even (in today’s terms) Pavilions. They had dirt floors with NO choir loft. But the problem is we have be come self loathing people who forgotten NON OF THIS matters when we focus totally on God in our worship. It’s the great commission that matters, it the words Jesus said “Compel them to come in..”, and reaching the list that matters. We need to stop telling people how to look or sound our version of “Holy”, this is the job of the Holy Spirit. It’s our job to live the life God has called us to live, wether it looks traditional or contemporary, and love people to Jesus who is the only answer to all our situations. The Holy Spirit will guid you to true holiness as we seek with fear and trembling. Let’s stop arguing these selfish matters and desires and be disciples and lift Jesus high that He will draw all men and women to Him. Instead of lifting our convictions and ideas in order to draw people to join our idea. I have Faith in the Holy Spirit to fully do His job, to convict, clarify, and council Every individual in the way they should live and minister. This is not our job, neither is deciding who is more Holy than another, nor judging if another is in, out, or left their faith.
