“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
– Matthew 1:21

You know I can still remember just as plain as day when I asked Jesus to come into my heart and forgive me of my sins. 1980. I was overseas in the Army I know the many times I’ve asked for mercy since then. And God has faithfully watched over me and kept me and delivered me by his mighty power.
I can still remember the night when God rolled that burden and sin and guilt off of me. And the peace he gave me. And the joy and liberty and assurance. Jesus stood up for me. When I couldn’t stand at all. He took my beating and the condemnation.
I wish everyone could find the grace and mercy of God. The righteousness that is by faith in Jesus Christ. The access. the living hope. The comfort. The rest. The healing and cleansing. His presence and goodness. His willingness and help. Jesus is a very present help in a time of trouble.
I was scared it would wear off. But it hasn’t. If anything Jesus is more near and more dear. And sure there’s ups and downs and delays and rejections and let downs and false accusations and failure. But Jesus hand is all I need. He walks me through every storm every trial every test and temptation.
So I pray and read my Bible and talk to people about Jesus Christ and salvation. The cross. Jesus sacrifice for sin. His resurrection. Heaven. Hell. Faith. Repentance. Humility. Usefulness. Obedience. It’s the least I can do.
Jesus is that good.
It’s going to be a good summer for the gospel
