Church politics kill more people than guns! Think about it…

We’ll talk about the Church and politics. As a very young, naïve pastor many, many years ago there was a moral issue that became political, people were talking about it a lot. And so I remember teaching on this thinking it’s just right out of the Bible. I should say what God says on this.

Church politics is when spiritual men and women get involved with carnal Christians! OVER

Wake up! Please!  Church politics refers to the decision making process in the church, to the leaders involved and the role they play in this process. Despite the fact its bad reputation, there’s nothing wrong about this process in itself. Especially in bigger churches, you need ways and processes like this. You need more

Alan N Carla Smith Hello! Breaking Up With Your Church Over Politics: The contentious election is a ripe topic for sermons but is sending some churchgoers to the doors.

Bill Wright I’m with ya… A Democratic senator taking part in talks on the GOP tax package says a provision allowing churches to endorse political candidates and still keep their tax-free status won’t be in the final bill.

Coble Webb Ain’t this the truth? Christianity today often forget that the word translated as “church” in the New Testament, ekklesia, meanspolitical assembly. Like the assembly of Israelite authorities from the time of Moses before it, “church” is Scripture’s name for a gathering, political community, with its own law and authority figures. Not surprising

I have said some thing just the same ” The Christian Army is the only army that shoots it’s wounded”. It is no wounder that many people will not dare come to an alter for help for fear of what people in the church will say about them.

I have spiritual accountability to my Bishop, but he has no authority over the church which I lead. The church which I lead is autonomous and sovereign. We use our own logo and have our own statement of faith. It is strictly a congregational form of government.

I for one don’t get involved with Church registry.
I was asked to join a Church a while back and I can tell you that if I knew that I was going to be used as an open play before the congregation I would of never had joined.
It had seemed all politically motivated to me.

I had spent my first three to four years at the beginning of my walk with the Lord reading my Bible like a novel.
I had his gifts imparted to me way before I even understood the Bible concerning the gifts of the Spirit.
And when I had finally started to attend a charismatic church I had shared my experiences with two members with their response being, Are you sure this is of God, you better pray about it.
What I had found out with my first in counter with other Christians, is that I knew things about his anointing more then they had.
I became a Christian at eighteen and I am now 58.
This is me on the right

Church politics kill more people than guns! Think about it… associate politics with control or Machiavellian manipulation, and therefore we pretend that the church is above it. Jesus, we like to say, was not into politics. He didn’t even try to save his own skin when he could. We prefer to think of the church as a no-politics zone.

I always had a streak of naìvete about this. I became a little smarter as the years went on, but only a little. Not a political schemer myself, I didn’t dream that some people in the church ate, breathed, and slept politics, and were invariably up to something.

That was before I became senior minister of a church where each monthly council session was a political battleground. I disliked having to think like a politician in order to conduct ministry. As exciting as it was, I soon tired of trying to preside over that church.

In the years since, I have realized how much easier my life as a minister might have been, and possibly how much more effective, if I had been more aware of how political the minister’s role is.
