BRITAIN VOTES TO LEAVE EU
After crushing blow, David Cameron resigns. EU leaders urge calm as markets swoon.
Britain voted to leave the European Union, setting in motion a historic divorce from the continent that raised questions about the future of the soon-to-be 27-member bloc, prompted British Prime Minister David Cameron to announce he would resign, and unleashed a storm of volatility on financial markets.
The vote’s final result — 52 percent for Leave and 48 percent for Remain — instantly triggered a global market selloff Friday morning as the world fretted about the future of London, its biggest financial center. Britain’s currency crashed to a 30-year low and the FTSE share index shed billions of pounds in value.

In my opinion this has no specifically identifiable eschatological impact apart from reminding us yet again that Hal Lindsay was a speculator, not a prophet, and that zealous puzzle solving is no substitute for sound exegesis. When Turkey starts percolating, I’m interested, but every tree that falls in the distant forest, even if it’s a big one, doesn’t have to be connected to the Holy Land’s fate. Our brothers & sisters in Europe may be in for a difficult economic ride for a season, and prayers for them seems to be a more biblical response to all this. As for the stock market, since when is nervous overreaction anything but a buying opportunity? BLESSINGS!

David Rollings Ricky Grimsley Hope you are not surprised when England does not leave EU. While the vote is final the exit is still pending. Greece has been trying to leave EU since 2010. Unsuccessfully!
The more important question here is HOW this leave affects global Christianity, the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy, etc. The deepening migrant crisis in EU is now losing one major outlet – immigration to England. How would this affect the national Anglican church and its ministry world wide – a church that remains intrinsically connected to the Crown and England ? William DeArteaga

I believe leaving the EU was spiritually a step in the right direction, but it may have negative economic costs. This should begin a trend to limit and reverse much of the Pagan “political correctness” that afflicts much of the Western World, but it needs a great revival also.

I also don’t understand why you think it will reverse political correctness, there is no evidence of this that I know. Most of our political leaders are committed to political correctness. I think your assumptions are based on wishful thinking rather than fact.

David Rollings – the Church leaders supporting remain frankly are out of touch with eschatology. With the Lord’s help British “born again” / charismatic Christians have a legitimate democratic voice to lobby and pray. In the past 18 months, I’ve met with a number of MPs on quite a numbering occasions, both In the Houses of Parliament and in constituency. I’ve briefly met both Boris Johnson and Ed Miliband. I’ve been part of a group of teachers who consulted with Jeremy Corbyn. And during the past 40 years I’ve never once had contact with Brussels nor any Euro MP. I’m not special and have no special inroads to politicians. What im saying is the voice of the people has influence in Britain. Why would I wish to remain part of a Euro-semi-dictatorship???

The Archbishop of Canterbury the Archbishop of York, Terry Virgo, the founder of one of Britain’s largest charismatic groups of Churches, many Anglican, Baptist, Pentecostal, Methodist and United Reformed Church clergy. David Hathaway is not representative of many Christians in the UK. You are wrong to say the Anglican as a Church has never opposed the EU nor has it supported it officially but as you will notice above I have listed the two Anglican Archbishops as having been in favour of the EU.

This has already affected the markets. And we are fooling ourselves if we think it won’t affect ours too. Today’s economy is truly global.
Of course, just as Obama blamed Dubya, even so will the coming economic downturn prove a handy thing for the next president to blame on Obama.

Nothing is final. For one EU has to pass this exodus and for two there’s an ongoing anti-referendum wave with over 1 mil. signed so far.
