BE ESTABLISHED IN THE GOSPEL BASICS – Ray E Horton

It is amazing how many Christians are not grounded in the basics of the Good News.

If you are Born Again:

– Jesus took your sin upon Himself, and there is no longer any condemnation.

– Your “old man” is dead, and you are now a new creation.

You can be confident in the fact that God is looking at your new-creation spirit and has empowered you to overcome sin and weakness and oppression

– While you still must deal with the flesh, and the devil still accuses, you can be confident in the fact that God is looking at your new-creation spirit and has empowered you to overcome sin and weakness and oppression.

– While our works will never work to bring us victory in life, His grace always will, when received by faith in every situation.

– No bad thing comes from God. We live in a fallen world, and deal with the wicked ways of the world, our flesh (often our own foolish decisions), and the lies of the devil. As we rely on Jesus, He is able to turn them to our good.

– He has given us authority over these negative forces, in His name.

– He has promised to never leave us or forsake us, and He is present within us by the Holy Spirit to lead and guide, teach and strengthen. He is our counselor and comforter. We are never alone.

Holy Spirit Baptism

– The fullness of the Holy Spirit is available with spiritual gifts and a prayer language to operate effectively in the supernatural realm for our own growth and service to others.

– As you trust in Him and commune with Him in prayer, He will do one of two things: 1) Deliver you from the situation, or 2) Show you what to do, and empower you to do it, and bring you through.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths” (Prov. 3:5-6).

In Him we have redemption through His blood and the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of His grace” (Eph. 1:7).
