Who is “he”? I am unsure whether it is Jesus or the Father. Which one is it?

Words are merely temporal signifiers that point to concepts beyond themselves. Therefore, “Allah” is only the Arabic word that signifies the “the Divine” and is no different than the word God. However, it is only the concept signified that is idolatrous. In this cause, Mohamed’s conception of the Deity. Apparently, Charles thinks that the Christian conception of God is even more graceless than its Islamic counterpart, which is idolatrous. I couldn’t see him going the Liberal route and saying they’re exactly the same, which is also idolatrous.

Allah is the Arabic word for God. Just like Dios is Spanish. Or Theos is Greek. That’s where we get the word theology from. Do we expect many Christians in the Middle East to use the English word when they speak Arabic?

Charles Page does not live in the Middle East, is not Arabic and therefore does not traditionally use the word allah to refer to the Father of Jesus Christ. If you are a missionary in Arabic speaking countries I can see value in using allah. Missionaries have to use words that people relate to and understand, so common language terms for deity are used regularly.
So in this context here in the US, on this page ,what is the point? If you want to say that Arabic speakers can use the term allah and refer to the God and Father of Jesus Christ, fine. But otherwise it seems this post is simply inflammatory and is bringing more confusion and argument than light. What is your intention, Charles Page?

Allah is the name of the Muslim god. I’m not a scholar and I know this. How easily are you lead astray?! Even the Muslims agree on this. Be careful not to let your own ‘wisdom’ overcome the truth. Adela Liliana Haragos Dina, that is true for Muslims, but some Middle Eastern and Palestinian Christians also use the word allah to refer to the god of the bible. But I think it would be best if all Christians refrained from using the term because of the way Muslims have taken it for themselves.

It should be clear that the depiction of Allah in the Quran is nothing like the depiction of the God and Father of Jesus Christ in the bible. They are light years apart. The god of the Muslims is a evil despot and a false divine. He is not real, does not exist and any attempt to link them is error.

That is a debatable point.
I would agree that the Christian’s Bible (depictions of their triune God) at the time of the writings of the Quran were “light years apart” and are comparable to the linage of Abraham through Ishmael.
I’m not sure we can say the Muslim deity does not exist but we can say that the messengers of Mohammed are despotic and evil. We can say the Quran is a misrepresentation of the God of Abraham.
This will be enough for you to be an infidel and beheaded.
One point of the Muslim belief of allah is that he cannot be insulted. You can insult their prophet.

If Mohammed had derived his doctrine from the bible and made some mistakes we could simply say that he was a sloppy theologian or a sloppy bible scholar and made some mistakes. But a simple confession of the orthodox creeds regarding Jesus would allow us to say that his Arabic Allah was the god of the bible. But since most of the doctrine of God in the Quran comes from the imagination of Mohammed and his need to manipulate his followers by making up words from Allah and the character of Allah is not similar to Jesus, then clearly Allah of Mohammed is a false god, an imagined god, an idol and not to be taken seriously. Any supposed similarities to Yahweh are simply contrivances of Mohammed in his attempt to gain legitimacy.

The truth about Jesus was mostly available to Mohammed through his contacts with Nestorian Christians in his area. But he rejected the essential truths of Jesus in order to create his own religion. By doing this he made himself a heretic, an unbeliver, and all his writings are error, a lie and a deception.

Allah is the word God in Arabic, yes for sure. But l think you need to watch out when you say it personally and no in your heart your servicing a different God then Muslims. That’s why alot of Muslims that convert call on the name Jesus not Allah because they know the God they call Allah is not the real God, the name extremists have been beheading for, so Allah is a stained name for us. And plus jesus is the name your suppose to call out to and everything is suppose to be in Jesus name, and it doesn’t take a scholar to know that, that’s just common sense if you read the Bible and apply it that is. So to the unbeliever watch what name you say to them because they may not understand your logic.

The Assemblies of God have ‘Allah’ in the name of their denomination’s name in Indonesia. The COG goes by ‘Bethel Church of Indonesia’, but they refer to God as ‘Allah’ in their sermons and its in the Bible translation just about every church uses.
