The feet on the Mount of Olives are God’s. The word LORD is capitalized. Also,that is not the first time the scriptures state God came down,Psalms 95:5. The mountains melted when he came down. The language is symbolic.
Psalms 97:5.States God rules. There are a number of scriptures that states that in the old testament. Therefore, that being stated in Zechariah is not the first time.
Christ said,he would come with his angels and gathering his elect(True believers) and punish others during that time. Paul said,those that know not God and do not obey. Knowing God means to obey him.
No one will have to flee when Christ returns with his angels. Therefore, I do not believe the attack on Jerusalem apply to the end of the age. I believe it occurred when Greece ruled over Israel and the nations. Greece also took Jews into captivity.
Also, Christ put an end to sacrifices and the law covenant. Those under the new covenant whether Jew or gentile are the Israel of God. Christ and his bride will rule over the nations. Christ died for all. Therefore, to believe animal sacrifices will again be acceptable to God is false doctrine. When it is plainly stated in the book of Hebrews Christ put an end animal sacrifices.Therefore,any scripture that mention the offering of animal sacrifices apply to the time before Christ or symbolizes something else.
Also, the word ALL in the scriptures does not mean all at times. The scriptures states Babylon was the hammer God appointed to punish all the earth. That earth was those nations God had Babylon punish. The same applies when it is stated all nations will attack Jerusalem. The nations God appointed to do His will. Which I believe was Greece and some of the nations ruled by Greece.
When Babylon warred against the nations for God,other people also fought against those nations on Babylon’s side.
Also, there is nothing new about God promising to bless those that were Israel enemies. Those nations that returned from Babylon God told if they obey him, he would establish them in the midst of His people.
There is no Benjamin’s gate, no tower of Hananel or king wine presses In Jerusalem today. No tribe of Judah today. The temple of God is true believers. Christ put an end to animal sacrifices. Therefore, that tells me the attack on Jerusalem happen in the pass. Also, those that dwell safely in the scriptures are those that remain faithful to God. God told those that returned from Babylon they would dwell safely. Yet, later generations rebelled and were punished.
