A quick look at a further meaning of Resurrection Day
On Resurrection Day We celebrate the Great Resurrection that made it all possible. Jesus died and rose for all mankind to bring us back to the reason for our creation, fellowship and oneness with Him.
Another Great Resurrection
He has raised us up and given us His Spirit to deal with this present life
“He raised us up and seated us together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:6).
“For if we have been united with Him in the likeness of His death, so shall we also be united with Him in the likeness of His resurrection” (Romans 6:5).
When we trusted Jesus Christ in our lives, another great resurrection took place as well. “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you (and He does if you are Born Again), He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you” (Romans 8:11).
Hallelujah! More than bringing our bodies to life at Christ’s return, He has raised us up and given us His Spirit to deal with this present life.
The quickening power of the Holy Spirit
I like the way Andrew Wommack puts it in his commentary on this verse:
“This is speaking of the current situation we face in this life. Our flesh has been rendered incapable of serving God correctly because of the effect sin has had on us, but our situation isn’t hopeless. God has given us His Spirit, and we can overcome this deficit by letting Him live through us (Galatians 2:20).
“Here in Romans 8:11, Paul was commenting on this quickening power of the Holy Spirit for this life as well as the ultimate victory when our physical bodies will be resurrected.”
