Perhaps most valuable for ministers in this group is p.17 of the manual:

4.2 Churches – Marriage Policy

In addition to a statement of religious beliefconcerning marriage, gender, and sexuality (pg. 3),and a facility use policy (pg. 13), churches shouldalso adopt a comprehensive policy concerning themarriages their pastors or ministers may solemnizeor otherwise participate in.

SAMPLE MARRIAGE POLICY Because God has ordained marriage and defined it as the covenant relationship between a man, awoman, and Himself, [the Church] will only recognize marriages between a biological man anda biological woman. Further, the [pastors/ministers/clergy] and staff of [the Church] shall onlyparticipate in weddings and solemnize marriages between one man and one woman. Finally, thefacilities and property of [the Church] shall only host weddings between one man and one woman

4.0 SUMMARY:

1.Create written procedures for becoming a church member

2. Create written procedures for church member discipline

3. Create written procedures for disassociating from church membership

4. Create a church marriage policy
