Text: I John 2:18-27
Introduction: In the World Book Encyclopedia, it says the Antichrist is ‘a power or person opposed to Christ’. 1 he Bible says that the Antichrist will rise to power before the last judgment of God. The term appears only in the first and second Epistles of John. It is mentioned in one sense as an evil power working against Christ in many persons and places. It is also used to refer to the one who will oppose Christ in the final battle between goad and evil.
- From What Nation Will the Antichrist Arise? a. In Daniel 9:26, it tells us that the Antichrist will be of the same nationality as the people who destroyed the Jewish temple, an event that was still in the future when Daniel wrote. b. With the benefit of hindsight, we know that, in A.D. 70, the temple was destroyed by the Romans. Therefore, it appears that the Antichrist will be of Roman origin. I believe he will arise from the reunited Roman Empire (by which I mean, Western Europe). II. Could the Antichrist Come From the United States of America? a. I believe that the Antichrist will arise out of the reunited roman Empire. b. This western portion of the Roman Empire that existed in John’s day when he prophesied the Antichrist’s coming from a future form of the Roman Empire. c. Today, no matter where he comes from, one thing is sure: He is coming and he will do exactly what the Bible predicts. III. What Will be the Total Mission of the Antichrist? a. I would like to give you 26 points to the mission of the Antichrist: i. He will appear in the “time of the end” of Israel’s history in Daniel 8:17. ii. His manifestation will signal the beginning of “the day of the Lord”. II Thessalonians 2:1-3. iii. The Antichrist manifestation is currently being hindered by the “restrainer”. II Thessalonians 2:3-7 iv. His rise to power will come through “Peace Programs”, Revelation 6:2. The Antichrist will make a covenant of peace with Israel in Daniel 9:27. This event will signal the beginning of the “Seven Year Tribulation”. He will break that covenant at its midpoint (at the 3 1/2 year point). v. Near the middle of the tribulation, the Antichrist will be “assassinated or violently killed”. Daniel 11:45; Revelation 13:3, 12, 14 vi. He will “descend into the abyss”. Revelation 17:8 vii. The Antichrist will be “raised back to life”. Revelation 11:7, 13:3&12-14; 17:8. viii. At that time the whole world will be “amazed and will follow after him”. Revelation 13:3 ix. He will be “totally controlled and energized by Satan”. Revelation 13:2-5. x. The Antichrist “will subdue three of the Ten Kings” in the reunited Roman Empire. Daniel 7:24. xi. The remaining “Seven Kings will give all authority to the beast”. Revelation 17:12-13 xii. The Antichrist will invade the land of Israel and “desecrate the rebuilt temple”. Daniel 9:27; 11:41; 12:11; Matthew 24:15; Revelation 11:2 xiii. He will mercilessly “pursue and persecute” the Jewish people. Daniel 7:21&25 xiv. He will set himself up in the “temple as God”. I Thessalonians 2:4

- Will the Antichrist be born of a virgin?
The Antichrist is presented in scripture as a complete counterfeit of the true Christ. As the
counterfeit son, he would have a supernatural origin. He will literally be Satan’s son. II
Thessalonians 2:9, “Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and
signs and lying wonders.” The Antichrist will be fully human, yet totally possessed by Satan.
- Will the Antichrist be a Jew or a Gentile? Daniel 8; and in Revelation 13:1, “And I stood upon
the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns,
and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.”
- We can also see prophecies in Revelation 17:15; Daniel 2 and 7, as well as Daniel 7:25; 9:27;
Daniel 11:41-45 as well as II Thessalonians 2:4, “Who opposeth and exalteth himself above (A
that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewin,
himself that he is God.” And then there is Revelation 11:2, “But the court which is without the
temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles; and that holy city shall
they tread under foot forty and two months.” And Revelations 12:6, Revelations 13:7, “And i
was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them and power was given h
over all kindred, and tongues, and nations.”
Conclusion:
What would the Antichrist be like? Today, I would like to give you six of his traits:
- He will be an intellectual genius: Daniel 8:23.
- He will be an oratorical genius: Daniel 11:36.
- He will be a political genius: Daniel 9:27; Revelation 17:11-12.
- He will be a commercial genius: Ii Thessalonians 2:4 and Revelation 13:8.
- He will be a military genius: Revelation 6:2 and Revelation 13:2.
- He will be a religious genius: H Thessalonians 2:4 and Revelation 13:8.

Text: Matthew 24:15-31
Introduction:
In the Tribulation, we can see the Antichrist and see the false prophets, and the fact that Jesus predicted that
people will come in His name, claiming to be Christ, and will deceive many in Matthew 24:5. They will be
so clever and work such extraordinary wonders that they will deceive all but God’s chosen people as seen in
Mark 13:22, “For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if
it were possible, even the elect. ” There will be an increase of apostasy, and unbelief will mark the last days.
Aware that error would flourish and there would be a falling away from the truth of the gospel, Paul wrote in
I Timothy 3: l, “Now the spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter tinies sotne shall depart front the faith,
giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; V 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their
conscience seared with a hot iron; ” Today, already, there are many cults which are flourishing: John saw
seals and trumpets and bowls!

The Introduction
Text: Titus 2:13, “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our
Savior, Jesus Christ…’
introduction:
Today I believe the most exciting moment in modern history is soon to transpire. The Lord Jesus is going to
return to this earth as He promised. This fulfillment is our blessed hope. Hope ts not simply a wish or desire
as some would use the term. Hope is a powerful word that is rooted in faith. The Greek word for hope is
“Elpis”, which indicates an expectancy of fulfillment or completion. As believers in Jesus Christ, we do not
merely wish for the Lord to return with uncertainty. We believe Jesus is coming, and we are expecting Him
to return at any time!
After Jesus was resurrected, He met with the disciples and gave them His final instructions for the church.
He commissioned them to go into the entire world and proclaim His gospel. He promised the power of the
Holy Spirit so they could be His witnesses.
After these words, suddenly Jesus ascended into heaven on a cloud of glory. As the disciples gazed up to
watch their Lord disappear before their eyes, two angels appeared and delivered a message from God: “Now
when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of
their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them
in white apparel, who also said, ‘Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus,
who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.’” Acts
1:9-11
- The Blessed Hope of the Harvest:
- This promise became one of the key motivational factors in the disciple’s urgent response to the
Great Commission.
- They were compelled to proclaim the message of Christ to the world because the Lord had
promised to return. The urgency the disciples felt concerning Jesus return is the very same
urgency we need today to reach the harvest fields of the world! The return of Jesus is close now
than ever before. This may sound like a fairy tale to many skeptics, but for the faithful children
of God, it is a resounding alarm to prepare for the Lord’s return to earth.
- Today, we need to reaffirm our belief in the soon return of Jesus Christ. When the church is not
filled with expectancy of the Lord’s return, people become spiritually lethargic and begin to lose
| heart as their faith dwindles. If a church loses its passion for the return of Jesus, it also may lose
its passion for winning souls to Jesus Christ. However, when the church is filled with fervency
for the Lord’s return, ministries blossom and souls are born again into the Kingdom of God. A
passion for the Lord’s return can be the fuel for evangelism and missions.
- The Last of the Last Days:
- Weas the church, the true believers have long realized that we are living in the “last days”
because of the pouring out of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2 that was characterized as a sign of the
time in Acts 2:17-21. However, the times we live in could be referred to as the ‘Last of the Last
Days’.

The earth is hit with its most severe hailstorm in history, hailstones weighing 75 pounds hit earth’s inhabitants. Revelation 16:17-21
