Troy Day Jesus obviously drank wine during this Passover meal, implying that it was a normal thing for him and his disciples to drink wine.
The real question is, does this justify Christians drinking alcohol?

The three Synoptic Gospel accounts give somewhat different versions of the order of the meal. In chapter 26 of the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus prays thanks for the bread, divides it, and hands the pieces of bread to his disciples, saying “Take, eat, this is my body.” Later in the meal Jesus takes a cup of wine, offers another prayer, and gives it to those present, saying “Drink from it, all of you; for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I will never again drink of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.”

Poppy Thompson yes… It is very clear that Jesus drank wine. The Jews did not drink grape juice at their Passover meal.

Neil Steven Lawrence from where its clear? Certainly NOT from the BIBLE because we have no verse saying that? and WHY since the BIBLE freely uses the word WINE – why not use it about JESUS last supper?

He must be reading some other KJV or so The BIBLE never says the CUP was with WINE – show me the verse where it says it?

Jesus did not call it wine but the fruit of the vine……….Mat 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
Mat 26:29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom. ………………………………….. In my opinion it was not fermented wine as we know it.. it is not rational to me that the bread had to be un- leavened ( unfermented ) yet the wine would be. Fermented. ………….The Jewish table wine in that day was very low in acholic content …….(Scriptural reference) ….Peter said….in Act_2:15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. Jesus told the disciples to prepare the Passover meal for “them.” That would’ve included the wine. Fruit of the vine was most certainly wine, not diluted. That is an American teaching that says wine wasn’t fermented, It certainly was fermented hence calling it wine. The Bible doesn’t record every single action that Jesus did in His life. But to me I feel the description was clear.
Growing up I truly that drinks a glass of wine was a sin. Why? Poor teaching
Yet Jesus turned water to wine, not grape juice. He would have never partook any anything that would have caused all them People to sin.
Over indulgence is a sin.
Let me be clear for those that love to judge. I don’t drink wine or any strong drink personally by the way ? Yet I don’t condemn any Christian that enjoyed a glass of wine with their dinner for example
