A Letter From The Executive Director

Dear SPS Friends and Colleagues,

On behalf of the Society for Pentecostal Studies’ Executive Committee, it is with deep regret that I announce the cancellation of the 2020 Annual Conference, scheduled to be held at Vanguard University on March 19-21. It is important to us that we convey to our members that this decision was not reached lightly or quickly. We sought counsel from several resources, including those with first-hand experience in treating the COVID-19 virus. The trajectory and ongoing threat of the virus remain unknown and its full impact not yet determined. Ultimately, our concern shifted from analyzing the potential travel risk to our responsibility to our Pentecostal community and the greater communities within their institutions, churches, and families that they represent.

We understand this decision leaves many of you with additional questions regarding refunds and the next steps. We urge those who were planning to attend the Meeting to expedite personal flight and hotel cancellations. Some airlines might allow you to change your flight within a year without cancellation fees. You may want to consider rebooking your flight for next year’s conference at Dallas, TX that is scheduled for March 18-21, 2021. Please check with your airline to confirm its policy regarding cancellation and rebooking. The Executive Committee meets again next week. We ask for your patience as we work diligently to address questions and provide additional information to our planned participants and guests.

Coronavirus vs faith or faith vs Coronavirus?
Faith has no fellowship with fear..

Institutions have a different level of responsibility and liability . just thought I would stir the pot a little .
“Stir the pot” is a metaphor for introducing another element to the conversation .

Does anyone know anyone that have coronavirus.

Anyone you work with? Has your doctors office been quarantine?

Schools have been shut down, concerts shut down, and even Some churches. NBA and flights suspended Now, if you hadn’t been suspicious of your media controlling by fear then you might should take a second look at it.
