Guess, I am about the same age as the notorious NY gangster and we may have crossed paths through there years. So here we go: How much of a bad gang banger was Nicky Cruz? No, really. Not just from Wilkerson’s books whose fake pandemic prophecy we debunked with William DeArteaga here:

1973 Vision by David Wilkerson CORONA VIRUS Covid-19

The famed Puerto Rican Mau-mau gang of Brooklyn got its name from a movie about the African uprising, which aired in the States in the summer of 1957. Nicky Cruz was not among the founders and became a member only because he too lived in Fort Greene Housing Project. Mau-mau only started after an explicit permission from the Chaplains and Sans Street Angels. They split from the Apaches was for not wanting to deal with heroin for the risk of confronting other gangs or getting big sentences when arrested.

So basically, in the beginning the Mau-maus were few guys living on the same street, fighting here and there and keeping their turf from others. They did not get their newspaper fame until after 1959 when Carl Cintron shot an Italian and the actual gangs of New York decided to wipe the Mau-maus out. And since the shooting was public in front of the Paramount Theater, the NY police looked the other way. Eventually, the Mau-Maus disappeared in 1962 after only a short existence of some 5 years.
But Nicky Cruz was not a part of any of this. He got saved in July of 1958 after almost 11 months of banging and self-claimed 16 stabbings (17 according to Wilkerson), which were basically neighborhood fights. So, with one year as a NY gangster and a few books under his belt, how much of a bad gang banger was Nicky Cruz actually?

bottom line 10m0nths in a street kid gang and then the book Philip Williams

FROM the author of the book — Nicky was in the Mau MAu for a few months while they were still just a boy-band. He was NOT arrested for any crime meaning was into petty crimes. MAu Mau on purpose stayed away from drugs as told to do so by the Chaplains gang and the Apaches who controlled the drug turfs. After a few months he got saved and this was ALL the street credit he ever got – praise the LORD
his book came a decade later – – – his gang testimony sold well as it was built on the Mau Mau activities he only knew from the NEWS – he never participated in any of them. He did not found the gang and serving its TOP 3 lead positions within a few short months is highly questionable says the author of the book NOW ask me why is this important
