Interested to hear what people’s thoughts are on the Nephilim in Gen. 6 and how it might relate to today? “As in the days of Noah”.

Brian Crisp [01/12/2016 12:53 PM]
The Nephilim were the offspring of fallen angels and human women. Some believe they are returning somehow but I do not know if I buy into that for now at least.

John Kissinger [01/12/2016 1:34 PM]
discussed so many times in this group that it got old http://www.pentecostaltheology.com/?s=Nephilim

Jonathan McCandless [01/12/2016 1:43 PM]
I didn’t know that it was talked about before. Is it no proper to talk about it again????? Is there any other subjects I shouldn’t bring up because they’ve been talked about before?

But it is old actually, dates back to Early biblical times.

Ricky Grimsley [01/12/2016 3:06 PM]
I believe that it relates now because laboratories all over the world are creating human/chimeras. I believe that the nephilim topic is what jesus was eluding to in his famous in the days of noah quote. If you are familiar with tom horn or steve quayle….that is exactly what i believe.

John Kissinger [01/12/2016 3:19 PM]
Jonathan McCandless just keeping you informed of what’s already done here. Do tell us your opinion of interest in this topic!

Jonathan McCandless [01/12/2016 8:04 PM]
I tend to agree with Ricky. Very interesting topic! Transhumanism and what they are trying to do with the human DNA is frightful to say the least!

John Kissinger [01/12/2016 8:13 PM]
I take it you did not read the discussion 🙂

Jonathan McCandless [01/12/2016 8:57 PM]

same with the word giants in LXX Gen 6 – of course giant and the great/big/high ones are close in meaning

Troy Day I think the nephilim were actually big men (6 foot is giant for most of the history of mankind. Just what I observe among those who died in the Flood. Here I differ from Heiser.

obviously some lived after the flood too but giants refers to the seed of the nephilims and not the nephilims themselves

Norm Geisler asked how I understood this. I see them as angelic spirits taking possession of men. Norm liked that.

I always took it as the descendents of Seth intermarrying with descendents of Cain. Angels/demons and humans can’t intermarry.

Ray E Horton yeah, the Augustinian view. What amount demonized men seeking to take whatever beautiful women they please. Kind of like Pharaoh possibly killing Abraham to take his beautiful wife Sarah.
