was requested by a family. They said it was their grand others favorite. The new minister agreed to sing all three verses at the request of the family.
After the service the family was apologetically thanking him.
They said in the middle of the song they remembered that Jingle bells was not the correct song. Instead it was “When they ring those golden bells.” ?

But I was at a black friend’s funeral and OH HAPPY DAY was sung.
This song was his signature song at the churches he would go to and sing.
That funeral lasted 4 hours because when the choir broke loose and started singing that song, the Holy Ghost fell and they sang it for a hour.
Howard Goodman of the Happy Goodman Family said they were requested to sing ‘WHEN THEY RING THE BELLS OF HEAVEN.” It is a song that gets up and goes. It isn’t the sad ‘WHEN THEY THOSE GOLDEN BELLS.”

any song that has the verse Romans 6:23 NKJV – For the wages of sin is death, is mentioned. Romans 6 is written to believers and i am amazed it is preached at a believer’s funeral. Death here is a temporary damaged relationship between a believer and God; not eternal death in hell.
