Luke 4:9 ” If thou be the son of Son of God cast thyself down from hence.” One of the big temptations that young people face is to take a chance with their body; a young man ( a junior at a local christian high school ) shot his car up to a 100 mph, 4 miles from here, lost control and lost his life. Another from a CoG family wanted to impress his buddies and rode his motorcycle so fast that when he left the road, they said it traveled 100 feet through the air before landing, he landed somewhere nearby dying in the crash. Seven miles the other way a high school senior wanted to show that he could ” jump from the temple” and survive and so he drank
to much straight whiskey and died of alcoholic poisoning. The stories go on endlessly; but how can the pastor or teacher head off these dead ends?
Sometimes a word to the wise is sufficient.
