With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And THE PEOPLE RESTED THEMSELVES UPON THE WORDS of Hezekiah king of Judah.
– 2 Chronicles 32:8

Hezekiah was a God fearing man. Hezekiah knew the weakness of the flesh but he also knew Gods faithfulness. He knew the strength of Gods promise. He knew the enemy was near but he knew God was nearer. Hezekiah knew God our help and God our shield. Hezekiah inspired faith and confidence in God.
These men trusted the instruction of Hezekiah. At the peril of their lives. His word was good. He was proven and trustworthy. We need maturity and confidence in our leadership and we need ready and willing minds in our men.
The people Rested upon the words of Hezekiah. Character matters. Our word matters. When a man is stripped of everything else, he still has his word. He still has real power in his integrity and value in his word. a mans word is his bond.
Scripture teaches the whole world groans under the burden of corruption. In a corrupted and violently changing world we need the incorruptible word and the unchanging God. God in whom is no shadow of turning. And reliable leaders. Bold leaders that stand up and speak up, With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. and can be believed and rested upon. peace .
