Good morning my dearly beloved.
Lamentations ch. 1:1-22. Jerusalem in Affliction.
This is what happens when we disobey God. For many years God sent prophets to warn the people of what would happen if they did not turn from their wicked ways. They did not listen. The very same is happening today. Jeremiah wrote with great sadness in his heart. The people did not love God. Therefore, they did not listen to His prophets. Now the great city that was once filled with life, love and laughter was desolate and afflicted. There is also coming a day/time when this world will face it’s final conflict. The great God of the universe will return and destroy every evil from this earth. What will be YOUR fate?
The sorrow of the Prophet over the utter perversity of those who should have been the spiritual light of the world, his sorrow over the fate of Zion and of the people carried captive to Babylon, is revealed in the Lamentations he has left on the record as a memorial of the Folly of turning from the council’s of Jehovah to human wisdom.
